Dominic’s POV
After talking at the desk and getting the formalities cleared, we moved to our lanes and I looked around to find Alex. I saw her talking to a guy in the lane besides us with a kid around 6 year old by her side. The guy glares at kid but the smile on kid’s face never fades. I watch as Alex walks towards us with the kid. When she reaches is she stood beside me. “Well this is Ryan. Ryan these are my friends. That’s Dom or Dominic, then that’s Noah. That’s Amber.” She says introducing everyone except Jake. Ryan looks at him and ask softly, “Who’s that?” He points to Jake. I can see why Alex doesn’t like Jake. He is a real douche. “That’s a nobody.” Alex said with a sweet smile. Jake look ready to snap but Amber stopped him. "That's Jake" Amber said and looked at Alex with exasperated look.
“Well let’s play. So how’s the team gonna go?” Alex asked completely ignoring Amber. “So me and Dom would be the captain.” Noah said excited. I just shrugged. Alex leaned towards me and whispered so only I could here. “Select me and Ryan.” I looked at her and raised my eyebrows. She gestured forward and I looked at Noah who kept glancing at Amber. I smirked and nodded. “Alright since you chose us to be the captain, I’ll be the first to select and I’ll select Alex.”
Noah selected Amber and then I selected Ryan making Jake go in Noah’s team. Soon we all got ready to compete. First it was me who went against Noah. So I the ball and rolled the ball. The ball went straight and crashed into the pins. Only 9 fell. Well it’s a good start. Then it was Noah’s turn. He put 9 as well. Next was Alex and Amber. Amber went first and scored 9. Alex went and she stuck her tongue at Amber while she rolled her eyes. I smiled at her childish behavior.
Alex rolled the ball and it knocked all the balls. I heard Ryan cheer when he saw all the pins down. He is a good kid. Now it was his turn. He went towards Alex and tugged her hand. I saw him gesture to come near him and he whispered something. I saw Alex smile warmly and say something. I was curious what it was. I saw Jake pick up the ball and he rolled it. It went straight in the gutter. I held myself from laughing but Alex didn’t. Jake glared at her which made me piss. I saw Ryan and Alex go pick up the ball. Alex told him how to hold the ball and he did. He stood near the lane and Alex was behind him. She adjusted his posture and told him when to roll the ball.
She stepped behind and watched Ryan do it by himself. We all watch Ryan and he rolled the ball and it was going in the straight line. It went straight and crashed in the middle pin which in turn knocked all the pins. Ryan jumped when he saw that he scored full 10. “Did you see that Alex. I did it!!!” He skipped to Alex. Alex stood with a proud smile. She ruffled his hair and hugged him, “Good job buddy. I knew you could do it.” Ryan had the biggest smile ever. I smiled at their interaction. Ryan was going to say something but Jake spoke up, “It’s not that of a big deal. Everyone could do it. So stop celebrating like it’s an achievement.” He was really getting on my nerves. “Yeah. But it’s not your cup of tea clearly.” Alex replied in a bored tone. “Well it was by luck. And mine won’t go in gutter every time.” Jake snapped. That’s it.
“Ok kid let’s see. Your turn.” I glared at him. He gulped but took the ball and rolled it. It just knocked 2 balls. I smirked and turned to Ryan, “Champ it’s your turn.” Ryan nodded and skipped to the ball and took it. He rolled it and again it went strike. Ryan jumped up and down. We all laughed at Jake’s face even Amber who tried to control giggled. This game went for a while and we obviously won. Jake kept grumbling about it being a ridiculous idea of hanging out hear and Amber kept telling him to shut up. Soon we decided to go to the diner. “Bye Ryan. Well see you soon again hopefully.” Alex said. Ryan gave a small smile but went to his brother who looked with a look in his eyes that I can’t point out. But it was unsettling. “Oh wait. Ryan come here buddy.” Alex said and took out a phone from her pocket. That’s phone is just to call someone. I furrowed my eyes but didn’t question it. “Take this phone, it already has my number. Call me whenever you want no matter what.” Alex said hugging Ryan. She whispered something in his ears, making Ryan tense up. But he didn’t say anything.
Alex looked at him with a hopeful face but she shook her head when she didn’t get what she wanted. She smiled one last time and then walked towards us. “What was that about?” I asked her when she was beside me. “Even I don’t know but I sure as hell would.” She looked as Ryan and his brother left in the car.
We made it to our car. Amber and Alex had parked besides each other in the Bike area so they went towards there. Noah and I moved towards my car when we saw Jake walk towards Amber with an irritated look. I look at Noah and he narrowed his eyes. “What the hell Amber?” Jake snapped. Amber looked at him confused while Alex looked angry. “I have told you so many times to behave like a normal girl and use car instead of this death machine. Do you know how embarrassed I am when the my friends tell me that you are not like their girlfriends.” Was he stupid or something. Alex looked ready to break few bones. I looked at Noah and he was ready to fight when Alex spoke deathly calm. “Amber, Noah and Dom I’ll meet you guys at the diner. You guys go ahead.” All the while looking at Jake.
“Alex, babe leave it….” Amber tried to calm Alex. “Amber I said leave.” She spoke calmly. “Alex..” “Amber. Leave.” That’s it Jake is going to die. Amber, Noah and I made our way to the diner. I wonder what’s gonna happen.
