Ryan’s POV

“Alex what’s a food festival?” I asked as I watched Amy and Alex talk. “Food festival is a place where people with their unique food business come. It’s like a fair but instead of rides there is food everywhere.” Alex answered while serving me the yummy spaghetti. Yum I love it especially if it’s made by Alex. She is the best cook.

“Hmm, when we go there we are going to try each and everything. And it’s gonna be so much fun.” Amy said. I looked at her and started to feel excited just by looking at her. “Are Dom and Noah going with us too?” I already knew they are going to come. “Yes they have to. If they won’t I’m gonna drag them by myself.” Amy replied showing me her muscle. I giggled when she wiggled her eyebrows.

I snapped my head to Alex excited, “Alex , Alex can we invite Charlie and her mom too?” I looked at her as she looked at me startled. “Please. Please. Please.” I said quickly looking at her. She looked at me for a second and replied, “Stop making that face at me. You look too cute it’s hard to resist. Yes we can invite them.” Alex said and smiled when I yelled yesss.

It’s finally Sunday. I have been waiting for soooo long. Today’s the day we go to the food festival and pretty girl is also coming with us. I’m so excited. Right now I am sitting on the sofa watching Power rangers as Alex and Amber are getting ready. I am already ready in my white tshirt with ocher colour pants and black belt. I also have an ocher color jacket matching my pants. When Alex was helping me get ready, Amy kept squealing and gushing at me.

I have never been this happy. I thought I would never be able to have a family who would love me. The times I have been to different foster homes were always bad. They would leave me alone and forget about me or they would hit me. I had always tried to be good boy. Hoping that they would love me back. I don’t know where my real parents but now it doesn’t matter. I have two big sisters and two big brothers who treat me as their own. And I’m so happy living with Alex.

I came out of my day dream when I heard the footsteps on the stairs. I smiled and quickly switched the TV off and ran towards the stairs. “Stop running love. Or you’ll get hurt.” Alex said as she saw me. I smiled shyly and looked at what she has wore. And we were matching. “You look so pretty Alex and Amy.” I said excitedly. Alex has wore same as me where as Amy has wore light pink top with blue ripped jeans.

“Come on let’s go. We have to pick up pretty girl too yet.” I said while trying to drag Alex and Amy with hands towards the door. “Ok ok let me just grab some water and my purse.” Alex said. “You both go ahead I’ll lock up and come.” Alex said to Amy and me. With that Amy and I left the house. Amy already had the keys to the car so she unlocked the car and we were waiting in it for Alex. I was wiggling around the car seat. I think Amy saw me so she asked ,”Calm down I know you are excited to meet your “pretty girl” but relax.” Amy chuckled.

Soon Alex came with a bag and sat in the passenger side as Amy was driving. “Let’s go let’s go.” I chanted as soon as Amy started the car. “Settle down love.” Alex commented without looking back. I love it when she calls me all the nicknames. Soon we reached at pretty girl’s house. I saw Alex start to get out and so I started unlocking the seatbelt. “You are staying right her Ryan.” I huffed but didn’t moved. Amy chuckled at my face. I wanna go out too.

Alex’s POV

I got out of the car and walked towards the building. After getting buzzed in I went to the apartment that Jessica had texted . The building was really nice and the staff that I had encountered till now were sweet too. Ok so apartment number 406, 407, 408, 409…. Oh there it is 410. I rang the doorbell and waited. After few seconds the door opened to reveal Jessica with a smile. “Hello Alex. Come on in.” I smiled and greeted her back before entering in.

“Charlie dear, come on Alex is here.” Jessica yelled for her and then turned to me. “Thank you again Alex for inviting Charlie. She has never been this excited. Also I’m sorry I couldn’t come…” I smiled at her reassuringly. “It’s not a big deal. I promise to take care of just as much as Ryan. You don’t need to worry.” I said and turned to the small girl coming towards her mom. Awee she looked so cute. She had a pretty floral frock with denim jacket. Her hair were in a two beautiful french braids.

“Okay now Char, honey don’t trouble Alex and her friends, stay with them all the time and more importantly enjoy. If you need me anytime ask Alex or her friends to call me I’ll come right away ok?” Jessica said to Charlie. I smiled as I heard a small yes Mommy followed by cute little nod. After Jessica gave Charlie small bag back we were ready to go.

Charlie shyly took my hand and waved bye to her mom. I gave one last reassuring smile and bid her bye as well. We walked downstairs hand in hand. Thankfully she wasn’t as much shy as she was when we first met.

We reached the car and I could see Ryan pouting while crossing his hands. This boy is really something. As soon as he saw us coming his expression turned 180 degrees. I could see Amy telling Ryan to stay in his seat as he tried to move. I chuckled and I heard Charlie giggle as well.
