Alex’s POV

It was now Friday and the school was already over. I and Amber were waiting for Ryan with Noah. Dom had to go home cause his mom called. We waited for around 10 minutes talking about random things. I heard the children running and screaming as they were coming out. I looked around for Ryan and immediately spot Ryan running towards me. I braced myself for the impact and sure enough he jumped in my arms. I heard him giggle and I was kind of relived that he trusted me enough to catch him.

“Careful love.” I scolded him gently. He just giggled at me. I smiled and let him down. Ryan turned to Amber and Noah and squealed hugging them. “Amyyyy I missed you.” Someone’s happy today. While Ryan was greeting Noah and Amber, I saw a little girl looking at Ryan and us awkwardly. The little girl had beautiful chocolate color skin and blue eyes. Her hair were in a french braid. I smiled at her and knew this was the Ryan’s pretty girl he was rambling about for days. Once Ryan had said hey to Noah and Amber, he came and stood next to the girl. “Guys. This my bestfriend Charlie. Charlie these are my brother and sisters. Alex, Amber and Noah.” He introduced. “Hello sweetie.” I greeted her. She looked at me shyly while holding Ryan’s hand. She trusts him. “Hey.” She replied. I was going to say something when I woman similar to Charlie. She looked in her early twenties. Maybe her sister. She came towards us and Charlie ran to her.

Charlie tugged the lady towards us and introduced us. “Mom that’s Ryan I told you about. He is my bestfriend. That’s Alex Ryan’s sister and that’s Amber and Nick his other brother and sister.” She finished. But wait a minute mother that woman doesn’t look like mother. Damn.

“Hello, I’m Jessica. Charlie’s mother.” I smiled and we greeted back. “I’m happy that Charlie finally has a friend. She hasn’t stopped talking about Ryan since she met him.” Jessica chuckled. I saw Charlie turn red as well as Ryan when I said, “Same goes with Ryan he hasn’t stopped his rambling about his ‘pretty girl’.”

We talked for a bit more then exchanged the phone numbers. Charlie is so adorable and cute no wonder Ryan keeps calling her pretty girl. And Jessica is a sweet lady with a little fire. She is the cool kind of mother.

We then left and Amber was staying for the weekend. We dropped Noah home before going to ours as he had rode with Dom. Right now we were getting ready for the work and Ryan was of course coming. Soon we were in the car and on the way to the gym. Around 10 minutes we reached out destination and quickly went in.

The gym was as usual full. Amber was a personal trainer so she went towards her client. While I and Ryan made our way towards the more open area. Today was kickboxing day so whoever had signed up were present. There were around ten people that includes two ladies, three gents and two teen girls and three teen boys. As everyone saw me coming they took their position.

“Hey love you will stand here okay.” I said to Ryan as I told him to stand beside me. “Hey guys, let’s first start with the warm ups.” So we started with streching first then we did push ups and squats and on the spots jogging and other exercises. After warming up, the trainees went to grab the punching bags but I stopped them.

“Today we will practice self defence with the partners.” I quickly made the pairs of two. I taught them how to pin someone down or if you are pinned down how to get out. Where to strike so the attacker would be stunned etc etc. All in all it was a fun class. Ryan was watching carefully although he wanted to be part of it I refused.

It was now time to pack up when one of the teen boy, Cole came towards me shyly. “Hi Cole, wassup?” I asked as I was going to walk to the lockers. “Uhmm H-Hi.” He stuttered. He suddenly thrusted something forward. A pamplet. I looked at him and raised my eyebrow. “M-my family is going to be there. There is going to be one of our stalls. So my parents wanted me to distribute this.” He said quietly and with red cheeks from embarrassment.

I looked at the pamplet and it was about a food stall in the food festival which was happening this weekend. Hmm we could go and that way one of our bucket list item would be completed. I looked at Cole and smiled. “Yeah I might come and check it out with my friends. Come on now it’s gonna get dark hurry home.” I told him. He grinned and nodded before going to his friend.

I put the pamplet in the bag and turned to Ryan. I was shocked to see him glaring at where Cole went. Ryan turned to me and pouted and when he saw I was laughing. He looked so cute glaring. “What happened baby?” I asked “What did he want Alex?” Ryan asked crossing his arms and glaring at me in attempt of intimidating me. I looked at him amused. “I’ll tell you at home okay? Come on Am’s waiting for us.” I said while I ruffled his hair.  He pouted again while patting his messed up hair.

After that all three of us went home and changed into the comfortable clothes and met in the kitchen where I was making dinner. “So there is this food festival coming? Shall we go?” I blurtered out. Am looked at me confused. I shrugged and told Ryan to get that pamplet. When he showed it to her I explained how Cole asked me to come and his family is setting one of the stalls there.

I knew she was going to agree as soon as I said food festival. Because who can say no to food. And that’s how we made a plan to go to food festival on Sunday and of course guys would be coming.
