Queen Leia's POV:
Emberfall Castle:I sit behind King Shane on a tall, black stallion as we make our way through the woods. A fleet of knights follow closely behind also on horseback. King Shane pulls at the rains, causing the horse to turn, left down a small embankment. Moving through the bright green foliage, we Stop suddenly on flat ground when he pulls up the rains again, Signaling for the horse to stop. King Shane climbs down off of the horse before extending a hand to me.
I rose early this morning being prepared by my ladies for the date.
Lady Rya, Lady Grace and Lady Mary had all come with me across the sea, sworn to serve until my last day in this world.
They'd made quick work of dressing me in an elegant light blue dress.
King Shane stands behind me, placing his hands over my eyes.
"What are you doing?" I ask with a laugh
"It's a surprise. Don't peak."
We walk a few paces, turning to the right before stopping.
He moves his hands.
"Open your eyes."
I open them, blinded for the moment by the harsh sunlight that beats down upon us. Once my vision clears, I see a meadow filled with vibrant colors of yellow, blue, purple and green. Flowers, protruding elegantly from a long bed of grass. I stand, speechlesss at the beauty of the place I now call home.
King Shane wraps his arms around me.
"What do you think?" He asks
"It is magnificent."
At my response, he laughs happily, pulling away and walking over to my line of sight.
" I'm glad you're pleased as I have set up everything needed to picnic here."
With this, he makes his way back to the horse while I stand there, watching to see what he's up to. Reaching into his sack That is attached to the horses saddle, He pulls a blanket and basket. Gently sitting the basket down, he walks over to a stretch of ground, analyze the blanket down. I spot the knights who guard us from the treeline, being certain to give some privacy.
"Now that you are Queen, it is time for you to set up your Royal household. The list includes staff such as cleaners, servants, and when it comes time, nannies and the like." King Shane informs me
I nod, having already given it much thought.
"I have sent letters out and have yet to hear any word. I wish to employ the daughters of noble ladies most closest and loyal to the Crown."
King Shane sits, pondering a moment.
"Lady Casa has three daughters of age. Send word to her of the positions you need filled. I have also increased your security."
I agree and we continue our meal.
"Should you hear word of any Princes coming of age who have yet to be betrothed, send word to me immediately." King Shane says
"May I ask if this is for your daughter's hand?" I ask
He nods.
"House Chester has broken off the betrothal to my daughter. Without this union, there is chance we will lack much needed material." King Shane says unhappily
I reach out, placing my hand upon his.
"I have all faith you shall find a perfect match for Princess Ruby."
