Six Months Later:

Queen Celeste's POV:

I walk through the large trees of the courtyard. The branches curve down like vines, bright purple flowers in full bloom. It is a sight to behold. One of my favorite places in the entire kingdom, not that I had seen much. Ever since the King learned I was with child, I was pulled away from the public eye, for protection. I had smiled, nodding but inside it killed me. From then on my ladies were my only company. My own family did not truly approve of this match, cutting off all contact, not answering letters as soon as the wedding was over. It crushed me deeply. Now, knowing in only a matter of months my child would arrive, I hoped that perhaps they would finally respond.

Staring up at the sky, I see large dark storm clouds rolling towards us in the sky. My knight follows closely behind as if he is my shadow. The day has been filled with activities, making more preparations for the child. I had spent the day organizing clothing and bedding, wishing to take on the tasks myself as a closer way to connect with my child. Ever since the King discovered I was with child, all the tension faded away as the pressure on his shoulders lifted.

Taking another step, I freeze feeling a rush of wetness and a sharp pain in my womb. I inhale, trying to regain my breath, the pain only increasing.

"Your Majesty are you alright?" My Knightsman asks, taking a step forward, alarmed

It is alright. The baby is coming. Help me to my chambers. Alert the midwives."

In my time of pregnancy, I learned as much as I could to prepare myself.

We stocked up on towels, bedding, cloth for diapers and pain relief supplies.

Slowly we make the painstaking journey back to my room.

The midwives have already entered, quickly getting everything in place.

"Lay her upon the bed." One of the midwives tells my knight.

He does as instructed, lying me down gently.

"Thank you sir." I tell him

"Of course, Your Majesty."

My heart is racing.

I am terribly nervous and pained.

"Have no fear, Your Majesty. I have delivered hundreds of babies in my time on this Earth." One of the midwives tells me

I smile faintly at her.

"Someone must alert the King."
