Nayantara's pov
As my eyes gradually fluttered open, I found myself surrounded by an eerie, impenetrable darkness of a dense forest. The sky above was devoid of any celestial presence, shrouded in an inky blackness. Riding atop of a horse, I observed the trees swiftly whizzing past me. The biting chill of the forceful wind pierced through me, intensifying the sensation of coldness.
I was kind of dizzy, I didn't knew where i was, and where i was going, my head was hurting because of the pain. I looked at my state and realised my clothes were ripped from many places, with my lehanga covered in dirt.
A droplet of blood fell down on my lehenga, as I touched my lips, I discovered blood trickling from them. Due to the imbalance, I began to stumble, but just before I could fall, I felt a firm pair of arms encircling my waist protectively, assisting me to regain my balance.
I looked over my shoulder and i gasped when i gazed at the most mesmerizing pair of eyes staring right into me. His hair disheveled, blood dripping from his forhead. His clothes were also tattered from many places. He was riding a horse.
I furrowed, I didn't knew what was happening, why we were in this state. We were just continuously moving ahead in the dark forest.
Suddenly, we came to a halt and i realised we were surrounded by many goons, there were many people on the horses surrounding us, they were all wearing black clothes, with their face covered. They had a weapon with them and i realised we were unarmed. We looked here and there for any way to escape but there was none. They were many in numbers.
An arrow came in our direction with such a speed that I didn't knew what to do for a second but the person behind me held me and bent down making the arrow pass.
I looked ahead and saw some people trying to attack us again but before they could we were again moving with such a speed that I didn't even get the time to realise. We made our way through the small space between the trees. My hands were scratched because of the leaves passing by. They followed us behind closely.
We tried to move fast but they were attacking us from behind making it difficult for us to move. One mistake and the arrow would hit us. We didn't lose our hope and continued moving but suddenly we fell down from the horse and i saw an arrow was stuck in the horse's leg. Blood seeping out of it.
The horse neighed in pain. I immediately tore a small cloth from my dupatta and tied it around the wound. As soon as i was done, my hand was grabbed by the person with me, he took my hand and we started moving but before we could we were already surrounded by many goons.
They came in our direction with sword in their hand, a hand came in front of me and i looked at him, he came in front of me, protecting me from the goons. He took out his sword which i didn't knew he had until now.
Soon the fight began and people started attacking him, my heart was pounding loudly in my chest. I just prayed for our safety. Suddenly i saw a person moving with sword in his direction from behind. I opened my mouth but nothing came out. I looked here and there, and saw a big stone, i immediately took it and with such forse i throw it in his direction that it directly hit his head making him groan. He looked at me and stood up coming in my direction.
I took a step back and tried to run but he caught me with my hairs, i groaned in pain and tried to free myself but all in vain. I looked at him and he was smirking, i felt a stinging pain on my left cheek. I looked at him with my bloodshot eyes and kicked him with all my force in his stomach. He groaned and left my hairs.
