Nayantara's pov
I woke up and was greeted by the warm rays of sunlight streaming in through the window, directly hitting my face. The melodious chirping of birds filled the air, with a few perched on my window, seemingly engaged in a lively discussion.
I found myself seated on the floor, leaning against the sofa, wondering how I had ended up falling asleep there. After my final words to Anirudh, he simply walked away without looking back, leaving me feeling abandoned. It was as if I meant nothing to him.
The events of last night were not what I had hoped for. I had intended to see him, but not under those circumstances. It was likely that it was the final time I laid my eyes on him, with no opportunity for future encounters. Because once he made any decision, he never back down regardless of the circumstances.
I didn't know what would happen now. My painting was still on the table, half done.
I got up, my back was paining so much. I went towards the bathing area to do my morning business and took a warm bath. I could not just sit and grief in my own pain. I had to distract my mind.
I came out from the bathing area after i was done. I was wearing a simple yellow and white lehenga. The maids were doing their work although my chamber always remained clean. i went to the dressing area and saw kashmira taking out my jewellery i had to wear today. She always helped me to get ready.
Kashmira and I shared a bond akin to that of siblings. Our friendship had blossomed since our early years, and we were inseparable, knowing each other's deepest secrets. Being the daughter of a distinguished royal physician and a late commander, Kashmira possessed extensive knowledge in the field of medicine and treatment.
"Oh you came, come i will get you ready."
She said while looking at me. I just nodded and went to the large dressing table and sat there. I started wearing yellow bangles and waited for her to do my hair but she didn't. I looked up to see her staring at me. I gulped down the lump in my throat and dropped my gaze towards the bangles.
"Nayantara, did you cry..??"
I didn't said anything and continue wearing bangles. She came and sat in front of me and took my hands in her.
"It's okay Nayantara. Just wait for sometime Anirudh will come to you. he is just sad that he lost his father and now all the kingdom's responsibility is on his shoulders, probably he is busy and and didn't get the time to meet you. We all know how much he love you and care for you. He will not like to see tears in your beautiful eyes. Don't worry."
She said with concerning voice. oh how much i wanted to tell her everything that i had meet him and he didn't care if i cry or not. He had cut all the ties with me. But i didn't have the right words and courage to tell her.
"I know it's just i miss him."
I replied with a breaking voice. She nodded at me and got up to do my hair.
Once we were done we got up and exited my chamber to go towards the temple in our palace.
We came in the temple and saw everyone except bapusa who was sick and maasa who was taking care of him.
All day i was busy with one and another thing i didn't wanted to just sit and overthink.
I found myself in a partially enclosed resting area, with half of it open to the surroundings. I chose to sit in the open section, where I could feel the gentle breeze. Although the sun had completely set, the sky still displayed a beautiful blend of red and orange hues. As I sat there, I noticed the birds gracefully making their way back to their nests, signaling the end of the day.
