Double Life
Scar x Grian
"Scar, look at me." Grian said, desperation made him speak harsher to the man in front of him than he intended.
"Yes, yes, I'm looking." Scar laughed, turning away from the pandas to look at Grian.
"Scar, I can only do this one more time." Grian said, his voice borderlining panic as he set up the dripstone again.
"Okay, yes, I'm watching." Scar laughed, looking up at Grian.
"Look at me." Grian said, pushing Scar against the tree. "Look."
Grian let go of the rope holding the stone above Scar's head, and it fell, and as it hit his head, Grian winced at the pain.
"Oh my God." Scar sighed, "It was you? The whole time it was you?"
Scar just seemed beyond words, so he slid down the tree and sat with his knees pulled to his chest. Scar looked up at Grian with silent tears tracing down his face.
"Why didn't you tell me?" Scar whispered softly. "Did- did you not want me?"
As Grian stared at Scar's slumped figure, he willed himself to say something. Anything. He wished he had the words to talk, to comfort, or just to apologize. But Grian's apology was stuck in his throat like a dry piece of bread.
Just say sorry! Grian yelled at himself, Why can't I just apologize.
Scar seemed to give up on getting Grian to say anything, so he stood up and brushed off his hands. Grian couldn't face Scar's disappointment, so he quickly turned his back on him and walked away.
"Wait, Grian!" Scar called, "I'm sorry!"
Grian whipped around in shock and stared at Scar in anger.
"Why are you sorry!" Grian cried angrily.
Griak turned and ran away before Scar could see the tears falling down his face.

Grian made it back to the spot he was planning on building his base at, and he dug through his chests, looking for his book. Grian eventually gave up looking for it and sat with his back to a crafting table and cried. He wrapped his arms around his legs and buried his face into his knees. A few seconds later, he looked up to see Bigb standing over him with a concerned look on his face.
"Are you okay, Grian?" Bigb asked, sitting beside him and laying a hand on his shoulder.
"No." Grian sighed, "I can't find my book."
"I'm assuming that this book is important?" Bigb said, treading carefully with his words.
"Yes." Grian sniffed, drawing his knees closer to his chest.
"Here I'll look." Bigb said, opening up a chest. "Is this it?"
Bigb held up a leatherbound book with a red string tied around it.
"Thank you, B!" Grian cried, flinging his arms around Bigb.
"Anytime Grian." Bigb laughed softly, patting Grian on the back. He stood up and ruffled Grian's hair. "I'd best be off then."
"Bye B." Grian said, opening up the book and pulling out a pen.
"Bye." Bigb walked off, leaving Grian to read through the book he thought he'd never see again.
