TO SAY CERISE WAS TERRIFIED would be an understatement, and despite Loralei trying to give the girl a pep talk, she couldn't help but feel like she was wasting her time by going to the ball with George.

As she slowly but surely made her way into her common room, she was a bit shocked to see Cedric standing there, waiting to see her. He smiled once he saw her, "As your big brother —"

"Little," Cerise interrupted, "I'm older than you."

"I'm taller," Cedric retorted, "So as your little but big brother, I would like to escort you down to your date."

Loralei snickered, and looked away. Cerise narrowed her eyes at her best friend, "How about you escort us both? We're come as a matching set."

Cedric smiled and offered his arm to both girls, who reluctantly took it. "You both look beautiful," he commented, making them both smile. "Gotta say, the Weasley twins are very lucky."

"Cho's lucky. . . that I haven't swung for her yet," Loralei muttered making the Diggory's exchange a glance.

"Don't do that," Cerise said, "Swing for Cedric instead."

"What did I do?" Cedric asked, rolling his eyes. "Actually, don't answer that because I'm sure you will go on for days otherwise."

Cerise and Loralei laughed, before they finally reached the entrance where everybody else was standing around. They spotted Cho almost instantly, and she approached them with a nervous smile. "You girls look pretty," she said quietly, knowing what their opinions on her were.

"Don't start," Cerise whispered to Loralei, "Because if you start, then you know I will, too."

Loralei took a deep breath. "Thank you, Cho." She said, "You too —"

"Cerise!" Elijah called, his eyes wide and watery. Cerise gave them all a wave goodbye before rushing towards him. "I am petrified."

Cerise pulled him into a corner as Loralei wandered off towards Fred, George and Lee. "I know," she said to him, "And I would be too —"

"No, you wouldn't," Elijah interrupted, "You don't care what anyone thinks of you."

"True," Cerise muttered, "But, still! This is a huge jump for you, and yes, you are going to get people that are staring at you, whispering harsh things to their friends and judging you and Lee, but the important thing is that you're happy, and as soon as you and Lee are on the dance floor with one another, are you really going to be paying anyone else attention?"

Elijah frowned, "Well, not really."

"Exactly," Cerise said, "You are going to be thinking of Lee, you're going to think of how lucky you are to be dancing with him in a more than friends type of way, and Lee is going to be thinking the exact same thing. Plus, you and I both know that if anybody were to stare at you guys, whisper about you guys, Lee will tell them all to shut up and mind their business."
