Jenifer ' s pov :
We returned from the great hall . I directly went to the shower .
The steam enveloped me like a warm embrace as I stepped into the shower, feeling the tension of the day begin to melt away. My fingers trailed through the cascading water, the rhythmic patter providing a soothing soundtrack to my thoughts. The tiles, slick beneath my feet, grounded me in the present moment as I closed my eyes, allowing myself to be engulfed by the tranquility of the moment.
With each breath, the scent of lavender filled my senses, transporting me to a place of calm and serenity. The hot water danced across my skin, a gentle caress that washed away the worries and stresses that had plagued me earlier. As I tilted my head back, letting the water cascade over me, I felt a sense of peace settle over me like a comforting blanket .
As I stepped out of the shower, the warmth of the steam enveloping me, I couldn't shake off the feeling of vulnerability that washed over me. Wrapping myself in a short towel, I ventured out into the main area of Matteo's dorm, now also my own.
My breath caught in my throat as I laid eyes on Matteo, shirtless and reclined on the sofa, his chiseled physique illuminated by the soft glow of the lamplight. His eyes were fixed intently on the pages of a book, but as soon as he noticed me, his gaze flicked up, locking with mine.
For a moment, we simply stared at each other, the air thick with tension and unspoken words. I couldn't help but feel self-conscious under his intense scrutiny, acutely aware of the towel that barely concealed my modesty.
Matteo's lips curved into a lazy smile as he took in my appearance, his eyes lingering on the exposed curves of my body. Despite my best efforts to maintain composure, I felt a blush creeping up my cheeks, heat rising beneath my skin at the intensity of his gaze.
"Enjoy your shower?" Matteo's voice broke the silence, his tone teasing yet tinged with a hint of something more. I nodded, feeling a surge of nervous energy coursing through me as I struggled to find my voice.
Clearing my throat, I forced myself to speak, though the words came out in a barely audible whisper. "Y-yes, it was refreshing," I replied, my gaze darting nervously away from his penetrating stare.
Matteo's smile widened, a spark of amusement dancing in his eyes as he set aside his book and rose from the sofa, moving closer until he stood mere inches away from me. I could feel the heat radiating off his body, sending a shiver down my spine as his proximity filled the space between us.
"Good," he murmured, his voice low and husky, sending a shiver down my spine. "You look... stunning," he added, his gaze tracing the contours of my body with a hunger that left me breathless.
I swallowed hard, feeling a surge of adrenaline coursing through me at his words. Despite the turmoil raging within me, I couldn't deny the undeniable attraction that pulsed between us, drawing us together like magnets.
As Matteo reached out to brush a stray lock of hair from my face, his touch sending a jolt of electricity through me, I couldn't help but wonder what lay ahead for us in this tangled web of desire and uncertainty. But for now, as we stood on the precipice of something unknown, all I could do was surrender to the intoxicating allure of the moment, allowing myself to be consumed by the fire that burned between us.
As I stood there, my heart pounding in my chest, Matteo's gaze bore into mine with an intensity that left me feeling exposed, vulnerable beneath his scrutiny. I tried to maintain a façade of composure, but beneath his piercing stare, I felt as though he could see straight through me, unraveling the layers of my defenses with each passing moment.
