Ariana POV:

Later, as I arrived home, the atmosphere was eerily quiet; perhaps the helpers had already left for the day. Collapsing onto the couch, I allowed myself a moment to unwind.

Exhaustion weighed heavily on me, and my head throbbed with intense pain. A shower seemed necessary to take some of the discomfort, so I sluggishly made my way to the bathroom, changed into comfortable attire, and let the warm water wash away the stress of the day.

Afterwards, the allure of a cup of coffee beckoned me to the kitchen. I reasoned that it might provide some relief from my pounding headache.

As the coffee brewed, I decided to give Raf uncle a call. He answered on the second ring, his familiar voice instantly soothing my frazzled nerves.

"Hello, princess. You remembered the old man," he greeted warmly, eliciting a smile and a sigh of relief from me. It was comforting to know that Uncle was doing well.

The memory of Auntie's struggle to find a suitable heart donor for his transplant still lingered, a reminder of life's unpredictable challenges.

"No, Uncle, how could I forget my favorite uncle," I replied, unable to suppress my smile.

He continued, "How was my son treating you? Is he still behaving like an asshole?"

I chuckled at his words and replied shyly, "No, Uncle, he's treating me well. He's really good."

After a brief pause, he hummed in acknowledgment and said, "That's good to know, princess. I was a little worried; what if it had cost your life? But then I had faith in you. I know you will bring him on the right track."

His words lingered in my mind. Was he right? We had shared a kiss, and that morning, he hadn't shouted at me. He seemed cool about it all.

Perhaps everything would be alright now. Had he accepted the marriage that had been forced upon him? These thoughts swirled in my mind as I pondered the uncertain future of our relationship.

Uncle's voice interrupted my musings, bringing me back to the present. "Ariana, are you listening?" he asked, pulling me from my reverie.

"Sorry, Uncle, I zoned out for a moment," I apologized sheepishly.

"No problem, child. Rest well; you must be tired," he reassured me kindly.

I bid Uncle farewell, taking a promise to convey my greetings to Auntie before ending the call. Drained both physically and emotionally, I settled onto the couch, waiting for Xavier's return, hoping that someday it would bring clarity to our uncertain relationship.

Lauren POV:

"This Slut has the audacity to talk back to me and ruined my day," I seethed silently.

"There's no going back on Xavier, but she seems to be encroaching on my territory. I've noticed how he looks at her during meetings, that smile of his. Does she think he smiles like that at everyone? No, he never smiled like that at me. I have to do something before things spiral out of control."

Already burdened with the knowledge of his secret marriage, I felt my frustration mounting. Two obstacles stood in my way: His Wife and Ariana. Both needed to be dealt with, and I knew exactly what I had to do.

I recalled the moment I stumbled upon the truth about his marriage. In the morning, I had ventured into Eric's cabin, our IT head, for some signatures. Afterwards, I made my way to the restroom, where I overheard two women conversing about Xavier's marital status.

As I stepped inside and closed the door behind me, the restroom was empty. I proceeded with my task, the silence of the room enveloping me. Suddenly, the door creaked open again, and in walked Maria, her laughter echoing in the confined space.

"I'm still saddened to hear that he's married," she lamented, her tone tinged with disappointment. Another voice chimed in agreement, expressing similar sentiments before adding, "But whoever that lucky woman is, she's incredibly fortunate." Their giggles filled the air, mingling with the sound of running water and the distant hum of conversation.

Initially,I assumed their conversation was about someone else entirely. However, as I reached for the door handle to leave, their next words froze me in place. The name they uttered sent a shockwave through my senses, leaving me reeling with newfound knowledge and burning curiosity.

"Xavier, our goddamn CEO, married, but not a single article about it," one of the women continued, fueling my fury.

"Nobody has seen his wife, but my boyfriend heard she was stunning. He was working as a waiter that day, but even he couldn't catch a glimpse of her face. He only heard people praising her endlessly."

With each word, my anger intensified. I felt an overwhelming urge to lash out, to destroy everything in my path. The mere thought of Xavier's hidden marriage and the mysterious woman who held his heart filled me with a burning desire for revenge. I know how to take my revenge i thought and smirked.
