The doors to the C.D.C opened enveloping the whole group in a bright light, as they stood in the doorway.
"Daryl, Rhea. You both cover the back." Shame instructed.
Rick walked forward "Hello? Hello" He called out.
Dale hold his shotgun close to himself "Close those doors. Watch for walkers."
Rhea nodded at Xander and he nodded back before helping her close the doors. Rick lead the group into the lobby to find it completely empty.
"Hello?" Rick called out once more only to be answered with a gun cocking.
The gun was belonging to a tall heavier built blonde haired man standing in the doorway. "Anybody infected?" The man asked suspiciously.
Rick looked down to the ground before he glanced back at the man "One of our group was. He didn't make it." He said grimly but the man steps closer.
"Why are you here? What do you want?"
"A chance." Rick responded simply and the man laughs bitterly.
"That's asking an awful lot these days."
Rick muttered an 'I know' while the man looked over the whole group, something about him rubs Rhea in the wrong way, so she moved closer to Xander.
"You all submit to a blood test. That's the price of admission."
Rick nodded "We can do that."
"You got stuff to bring in, you do it now. Once this door closes it stays closed." He pointed towards the doors causing Rick, Daryl, Glenn and T-Dog to run back to the cars and grab their bags.
The man spoke into a small box at the wall "VI, seal the main entrance. Kill the power up here" he talked into a security pad on the wall next to it. It beeped before shutting the doors behind the group loudly.
"Rick Grimes." The officer greets, sticking his hand out for the man who saved their lives.
The man in question, however, did not respond accordingly "Dr. Edwin Jenner." He said, not moving to shake Rick's hand.
The man lead the group to an elevator, not speaking a single word as he does so. They all manage to squeeze inside the confined space, by some odd miracle. Rhea end up stuck between her father and Xander.
"Doctors always go around packing heat like that?" Daryl asked sarcastically.
"There were plenty left lying around. I familiarized myself... but you look harmless enough." Jenner answered him. He then looked down at Carl. "Except you. I'll have to keep my eye on you."
Soon enough their ride was over. Jenner lead them down yet another corridor, dimly lit with white lights.
