It has been six years since Rick Grimes 'death'. Everything changed after his disappearance. Daryl lives in the woods using every chance he could to look for Rick's body. Michonne closed the gates of Alexandria for good.
Not that it helped.
A few months after Rick disappearance, Michonne, Jisung, Leo and Daryl had been through something awful, that changed all of them. Michonne stopped all contacts with the other communities for good.
Maggie had taken Hershel and she left Hilltop, leaving Jesus, Athena and Leo in charged of everything. After many, many, many 'discussions' they decided for Athena to be the leader, Jesus her right hand man, just like when Maggie was here.
Leo was one of doctors in Hilltop along side with Enid. But also he was one of the leaders. He and Athena were the leaders of Hilltop. She is just the official leader.

Athena was climbing the stairs of the mansion with her tiger by her side, over the years Shiva became inseparable from the woman and her family, she was always around them, playing with eight years old Corina and protecting them at any cost, Shiva had become Athena's best friend and companion.
They walked towards the couch that was next to the stairs, where Leo and Jesus were waiting for the leader.
"Okay, I'm here what's going on?" Athena asked them as she sat down on the couch next to Leo with Shiva sitting next to her and looked towards Jesus, who was sitting on a chair in front of the couple.
"I got a list of people that would want to talk to either one of you." Jesus said as he looked down at his list.
"Ahhhh, we are sure you are Paul." Leo said with a smirk on his face.
Jesus rolled his eyes at them and went to stand up "Fine. I'll just leave this here and you can deal with it."
Athena quickly shook her head at him "Ah, ah, ah, no sit your sweet ass down. We're listening."
"I have twenty minutes before I have to be back to the infirmary with Enid, so..." Leo motion with his hand for their friend to talk.
"Okay. Tammy Rose wants to expand the crop fields, but she needs to see how far she can cultivate. Enid still needs more room in the garden for medicinal herbs, which I'm sure you already know about Leo." Jesus said to him, as he smiled and nodded his head. "Alden, also needs your okay to send another team out to scrap metal. There's a noice complaint from trailer seven. And there's this."
Jesus handed Athena a list and she looked at it, while Leo looked at it over her shoulder. "Congrats babe you are re-elected leader of Hilltop." He teased her with a smirk, but his smirk fall down as she elbow him in the ribs.
"Yeah, well, a win is a given when no one runs against you." Athena told them with a smirk.
"Hey, you can at least pretend to be happy." Jesus told her with a smile.
