Chapter 41: Alone

It was way too misty to see anything at this point.

Leo stood back to back with Sasha, Maggie and Bob. Walkers snarls had been surrounded them, at any given point a walker could come at them. They had to know where from.

The first walker came and it was to Sasha's direction. With one poke of a knife, she got rid of it, but more were coming.

Maggie and Leo worked together to take another two out, when they heard a scream coming from Bob, causing Sasha to break formation and to help him.

Maggie was pinned down so Leo took down the walker on top of her, while Sasha took down the walker that bit Bob. After killing all the walkers Leo and Maggie turned towards Bob and Sasha.

Bob was kneeling on the ground panting as he checked his shoulder.

"Oh, Bob." Sasha whispered sadly as she kneeled in front of him.

He just chuckled tiredly at them "It's okay. He got me right on the bandage." Sasha started laughing and hugged him tightly which made him groan "Ow. Ow! Ow! Ow!" Sasha quickly pulled away and backed up making Bob grin "I didn't say stop. I just said ow."

The three of them chuckled at his humor, meanwhile, Maggie checked over their ammo "You ready?"

Sasha nodded, slamming her rounds back in "We should wait till the fog clears."

"We've been waiting a while." The eldest Greene girl pointed out.

Leo sighed, "It would be much safer that way though. Otherwise, we could have a repeat of what happened before."

"Leo has a point." Sasha pointed at the boy "You see all of this? We just got lucky. We can't work if we can't see." she urged with Maggie "We've got six bullets left."

Bob jerked his chin at Sasha and Leo "They're both right. We've been doing good following the plan. No need to get sloppy now."

Maggie took out a compass, glancing at it, she let out an inward sigh. Leo and Sasha glanced at each other before the older girl spoke up, "What is it?"

Maggie chucked the little thing over, "It's broken."

"That's just peachy." The younger boy groaned.

"We don't need it." Bob reassured them "Sun comes up in the east, sets in the west. We'll keep an eye on it in between. We'll be fine."

Begrudgingly they waited for the fog to clear and as soon as it did they picked up their bags and rushed out of the woods and to a long line of train tracks. By the side stood a sign, but they were looking at the back of it.

"What's that?" Leo questioned and he took the lead walking towards it and crouching down looking at it. "Terminus... when we went on the run for medical supplies there was a message over the radio."

"They were broadcasting? What did it say?" Sasha asked the younger boy.

Leo just shook his head as he stood up "Barely understood it."

Bob nodded in agreement and pointed to the sign tracing it with his finger. "I only know because I'm seeing it now. 'Those who arrive survive'."

Maggie looked over the sign one more time and walked onto the tracks "We should go."

Leo furrowed his brows "I thought we were looking for Glenn, Athena and Ji?" He asked as he looked towards the woman.

Maggie turned towards the boy and pointed towards the sign "If they saw one of these, they would go looking for us looking for them. Look at this map. All these tracks from different directions leading to the same place."

Sasha shook her head "It's far. And we don't know if there are other signs."

Maggie shook her head in disbelief "You don't think this is the only one."

Bob looked at Sasha trying to convince her "This is the best lead we've had so far. It says sanctuary. That's just another reason to try. Others from the prison could be there. Tyreese."

"If it sounds too good to be true... Maybe if Glenn saw one of these, maybe he felt the same way." Sasha then looked towards Leo "And I bet my ass that Athena felt the same way, Leo. We all know that she doesn't just trust places or people like that. Jisung it's same way."

Leo sighed and placed his hands on his hips, agreeing with the woman. He knew Athena and Jisung, they weren't the trusting kinds. Especially Athena.

Maggie shook her head vigorously "I know him, he wouldn't."

Bob turned towards Sasha still going "What do you want to do, Sasha? Keep making these circles from the bus? Or are you talking about us starting to do something else? We're not splitting up. That can't happen." He backed up to stand on the other side of Maggie still looking at Sasha "You want to take a vote or something?"

Leo also moved to stand next to Maggie "You made a good point Sasha, I'm not going to lie. But I also know that Athena and Ji would still go there, just to make sure that I was there or I wasn't."

Sasha clenched her jaw as she moved her eyes in between all three of them, before she finally gave in "Fine. I'm in."

It'd been days since they were on the road. Maggie was leaving signs out for Glenn that she'd be at the Terminus and that's where he could find her. Leo often kept quiet, thinking about Athena and Jisung's whereabouts.

But he knew that they were alive and were out there, looking for him. And he had to keep going, keep looking and fighting for them.

Leo knew that they were getting closer. That was until Maggie spotted a car in the distance. There were three people inside, two men and one woman. Abraham, Eugene, and Rosita.

Something that they'd told her absolutely blew Maggie out of the roof. They'd been with Glenn just before and told them that they were in a tunnel. They were able to save Glenn and some other woman, that seemed familiar, just in time before walkers got to them.

Maggie rushed up to her husband embracing him with heavy breaths.

They'd found each other.

Now all Leo needs to do was to find Athena and Jisung.
