Xander Grimes never thought that he would actually save the whole world with his girlfriend Rhea Dixon.
He couldn't believe that after four years, they were finally together.
He looked towards her, as she had her head on his shoulder with her eyes closed. She wasn't exactly sleeping, but more like resting her eyes. She was tired of all this traveling, and not sleeping good.
He couldn't help but run his hands through her hair making the girl moan, before she opened her eyes and locked her eyes with Xander's, who smiled at her.
"Hey. I didn't mean to wake you up." He whispered to her.
"It's okay." She whispered back before she lean foward and connected her lips with his.
Xander smiled into the kiss as he put his palm against her cheek. When they broke the kiss, Rhea smiled at him before she put her head on his shoulder again as he put his arm around her.
Maggie turned around and looked ahead to Eugene. "How long will it be?" She questioned "After you get on that terminal and do what you have to do?"
Xander and Rhea turned around to look at the man too.
"Depends on a number of factors including density of the infected around target sites worldwide." Eugene explained.
Glenn turned now "Wait, target sites? Are you talking about missiles?"
Eugene looked Glenn dead in the eyes "That's classified."
"I thought we were over that." Xander stated with squinted eyes.
"What if we all live?" Eugene questions "Then, the secrets will still matter then?"
Rhea butted in "These are our lives now, no more secrets."
"They still might," Eugene pointed out "Anyway, the speed with which things normalize depend on a number of factors including worldwide weather patterns, which were modeled without the assumption that cars, planes, boats and trains wouldn't be pouring hydrocarbons into the atmosphere this long. Changed the game quite a bit when it comes to air-transmissible pathogens." He explained to them.
Rhea was just staring blankly at the man, not understanding what he was saying. "Man I am smart, but fuck I can't understand you at all. Are you human?" She asked him blankly and everyone around her chuckled at her.
Glenn then then asked him "Why the hair?"
Rhea, Maggie and Xander chuckled.
Eugene looked at Glenn "Because I like it." He looked ahead to Rosita "And no one is takin' scissors or clipper to it anytime soon. Do you hear me, Miss Espinoza?"
Rosita chuckled "Yes, loud and clear."
Everyone else chuckles. Eugene looked around "Y'all can laugh all you want."
