It has been two months since Alpha had killed their people. Two months since Jisung Park-Grimes and Angel Park Rhee-Grimes had lost, Eve Rhee Park-Grimes. A beloved mother, wife, aunt and a friend.
Jisung wasn't the same after he saw his one true love's head on a pike. Half of his soul left him that moment on the field. Eve was his one true love and after her, there was nothing.
Angel wasn't doing any better also. Her mother was her everything. Eve was her role model, she was the person Angel looked up a lot. She was also her best friend in the world.
The father/daughter duo couldn't stay at the Kingdom anymore and they didn't wanted to. Every time Jisung would look at Lydia and all he saw was her mother killing the love of his life. He knew he needed some time to himself, to clean his head and to mourn in peace. Because he knew it wasn't Lydia's fault, he didn't wanted to do or to say something that he will regret later.
So Jisung took his daughter back to Alexandria. Where they could mourn in peace and the Dixon's understood perfectly.
The Kingdom had shut down and the fair had been no help. Winter was here. Athena had tried to send Corina back in Alexandria with her cousins and uncle, but the little girl refused to leave her parents, and Leo agreed. After everything he wanted his family to be in his sight all the time.
They were just about ready to head out of the Kingdom. Athena sat with Lydia, Corina on her lap. Shiva was laying on top of Athena's feet trying to give them some warmth and comfort.
Leo was with Daryl, helping the others. The three sat in silence when Daryl and Leo approached the three with two plates of food.
"Make sure you guys eat something. We gotta get these folks to Hilltop." Daryl walked away before Athena could thank her father.
Leo sat down next to his wife and gave Corina a plate. "You should eat baby." He whispered to her.
"What about you two?" She asked her parents.
They looked at each other "We already ate." Athena told her with a small smile. Corina nodded and had started to eat then.
🏹🗡️
After a couple of minutes, Daryl had come back. It was time for the Kingdom to take their refuge at Hilltop. Everyone began to head out as the gate opened.
Slowly but ever so surely, the community was moving along the road. Several horses behind with carts carrying the older and the young in.
Corina didn't wanted to be separated from her parents, so she walked in between them. But she was still a child that would get tired easily, so they placed her on Shiva's back, and that was how they traveled. Although, when various walkers in the distance were roaming to the north some people were put at unrest.
"Is that them?" Athena looked up at Alden, who's on one of the horses, glaring down at Lydia. "People watching us now, huh? Well, we followed their rules. Haven't they done enough to us?"
