"Tell me who almost fucking knocked you up," my brother says sternly, his face flushed with anger.

'Come down, Lewis...' Maria intervenes.

'Amalia! What bastard almost got you pregnant?" Lewis repeats angrily.

"What?" came his voice, which I had been longing for for two weeks.

My body turned to face him. My eyes caught sight of his form, but he skillfully ignored me.

"Bro, Lan, where have you been?" Lewis asks, hugging Lando gently.

Frozen, I step back.

'The sight of you makes me sick...' I say sourly.

'I didn't come home for you...' he says unkindly.

Turning away from him, I walk upstairs.

'Are you okay?' Maria asks me, gripping my wrist.

''Yes...just give me a moment...'' I reply.

Slipping her hand, I complete my way up to my room.

-------------

''amalia...I didn't know,'' his voice rang out after a few minutes in my room.

But I angrily interrupted him as I nervously chewed my nails.

'I don't care...' I say angrily.

Our eyes didn't meet.

'It wasn't my intention to almost get you pregnant...' he says quietly.

'So? What would it have changed if it had been me? You would have been the first to run away...'' I say, still full of rage.

"So that's what you think of me, dear?" he asks in a disappointed voice.

''That's what everyone thinks of you...and get the fuck out of my face'' I respond angrily.

'I'm sorry, okay?' he says again.

'I don't give a shit...you're like everyone else in my life who lets me down at some point,' I say back unkindly.

''I didn't let you down...'' Lando tries to reassure me.

'So what do you call it then? First you fuck me and make me feel special and then you fuck off...but what did I expect from someone like you?' I say angrily.

'Someone like me?' he asks, feeling attacked.

'You're a man who can't love anyone but himself,' I say very unkindly.

Broken eyes look into mine.

'You little whore...' he says angrily and walks towards me.

He stops himself and clenches his fists.

'I should never have slept with you... that was my biggest mistake...' he says, leaving my room and slamming my door loudly.

My heart sank. Breathing deeply, I look through the large window of my room.

-------------

His staring gaze penetrates my body, which is covered by a long evening dress. But I consciously avoid his gaze.

'Let's go to the gym tomorrow and then have a picnic,' Maria suggests with a smile as we sit around a table in a restaurant with Charles and Lewis.

"Is the weather going to be good tomorrow?" I ask her kindly.

''Yes... I think it will be around 20°'' Maria replies sweetly.

'Stop staring at my sister like that, lan,' my brother says sternly to Lando.

Now my eyes turn to the two of them.

'I'm not staring at your sister...' he replies coldly.

"But?" my brother asks, still tense.

'At the attractive lady behind her...' he says with cold eyes.

I turn around immediately. My stomach turns. There was indeed an attractive lady sitting behind me. Lando stood up and walked over to her.

'Excuse me...' Lando says with a grin, not even giving me a glance.

I looked down at the floor with red eyes.

'Sweetie, are you okay?' Maria whispers in my ear and grabs my hand.

'I just want to go home,' I say, exhausted.

-------------

After an hour, Maria and I were able to break away from Charles and Lewis. A few minutes later we opened the front door. Inside, we find a trail of lost clothes leading us to the living room. My heart sank when I saw him lying there, on the floor, a naked woman in his arms.

'You're the last one, Norris,' I say disappointedly.

He just grinned.

Maria took me upstairs.

'You'll have to forget about him, sweetie,' she says as we take our make-up off together.

'I know...but what's wrong with me?' I asked with moist eyes.

'Sweetie...he's the problem, not you. He's not the one...'' she responds and hugs me.

-------------

Staring at the ceiling, I float in my thoughts, following the conversation from below.

"Good morning, Maria...where's Amalia?" Lewis asks Maria.

'She's not hungry...' she replies.

''What's really going on? And don't lie to me,'' Lewis asks again, but now with a certain sternness.

'She's been staring at the ceiling the whole time...she hasn't slept a second...' Maria explains to my brother Lewis.

*a few minutes later*

"ama...?" my brother asks gently.

For the first time, I lower my gaze. Turning my eyes to Lewis, I wait for him to say something.

"Is something wrong?" my brother asks worriedly.

'I'm fine,' I reply, lying.

"When exactly did we start lying to each other?" he asks disappointedly and sits down on the edge of my bed.

''lew...I was thinking about giving mom another chance...''

"What?" Lewis says, startled.

-----------

'Amalia...' knocks on my door, my figure sitting on the balcony taking a drag from a cigarette.

Without me answering, it opens. I can feel the wind behind me. Familiar fingers take my cigarette from me and put it out.

'Look at me,' he whispers.

His hand reaches for my chin until I meet his eyes.

"What do you want, Norris?" I ask coldly.

'Did I hear that right, that you want to give your mom another chance?' he asks, kneeling down to be at eye level with me.

'Yes...' I say back.

"Have you fallen on your head?" he asks sternly.

Cold-hearted eyes meet his. His hand grips my neck tenderly.

''Have you forgotten the pain she caused you?'' he asks again, tenderly stroking my soft neck.

"And why exactly do you care?" I ask rudely.

''I have no desire to have to carry your corpse out of your mother's apartment one day... do you understand?

''I don't really care...'' I don't really respond.

'I'm sorry I treated you like that after we had sex...' he says quietly.

'Why? You regret it...' I reply coldly.

'I don't regret sleeping with you...I only regret that I can't be what you deserve...' he whispers.
