'Sorry,' I say, a little ashamed.

'Oh, it's not so bad, love...' he says relaxed.

He gently puts me in his arms. My bare leg is bent over his.

"Are you all right?" he asks gently as he strokes my hair.

Raising my head, I catch sight of his handsome face.

'Yes,' I say with a smile.

'So you liked it?' he asks sweetly.

'I did...' I reply with a smile.

'But was I good enough?' I ask uncertainly.

'Darling...you were more than enough...' he says and touches my cheeks.

''I promise you that you will never suffer because of me again...I won't let you down again, but you have to give me time to sort my thing out first...that's all I ask, give me time...'' he says gently.

'Okay, I'll give you time, Norris,' I say softly.

His lips gently touch my forehead, which I savor, closing my eyes.

'I should go now, because if Lewis finds us like this tomorrow, we're dead,' I say with a smile.

'I wish this night never had to end...' he says softly.

With a smile, I sit down on the edge of the bed and grab my clothes from the floor.

'Give me your bra...' he whispers.

I give it to him in amazement. Lando helped me get dressed.

'Sleep well, love...' he says and gives my lips another kiss before I leave his room dressed again.

-------------------

''Please don't...please don't touch me...'' I cry out.

'hey..amalia..shh' a voice rang out and hugged me.

''It's me, Maria...you were just dreaming...'' the voice sounded again.

I slowly came to. Maria held my shaking body close to her.

--------------

With dark circles under my eyes and tired, I walked down the next flight of stairs, over to the kitchen where Charles, Lando and Lewis stood gathered.

"Oh God, what's happened?" Lewis's worried voice rings out.

Exhausted, I settle down on a chair.

'She had a nightmare...' Maria spoke for me when I didn't.

I blanked out the others' stares and swallowed my pills with water.

--------------

'Why didn't you tell me that you had a nightmare? Why didn't you come to me?' he asks me sternly as he bursts into the bathroom where I'm brushing my teeth and my body is covered by a towel.

'It's nothing,' I say, exhausted.

Lando closes the door behind him and grabs my wrists.

'Tell me what happened in the nightmare,' he asks me gently.

'The dream was about a repressed event...' I began to speak.

Putting my toothbrush away, I looked into his worried eyes.

''One evening...I was hiding in my room again because mom had visitors and Lewis...he was away because of his race...'' I said.

"What happened? Take all the time you need...'' he says tenderly.

'Then my bedroom door opens, I'm already sitting in the corner, scared. Then there was a tall man in my room, visibly drunk... he asked my mother: "Who's the little girl here? My mother then says: ''No one...she's a failed pregnancy. The man laughs and runs towards me. My whole body was shaking. I begged the man not to touch me like the men before, but he grabbed...um...my breasts and reached between my legs. But then I found the courage to kick him away. The man got really angry and opened his pocket knife. I tried to defend myself and he caught me on the stomach...before anything else worse could happen, luckily Lewis came home and took me to safety...'' I explained to Lando in tears.

He covers his mouth with his hand, his eyes filled with water. He gently pulls me into a hug.

"Do you know the man's name?" he asks me gently.

''That's not necessary...'' I respond.

'Why?' he asks in surprise.

''He's already dead...he died of liver failure a few months ago...'' I explain.

'If he was still alive, I would have killed him myself...' he whispers and kisses my head.

'Forgive me for raising my voice to you...' he says and puts his hand on my cheek.

'It's okay,' I say with a soft smile.

''And if you have another nightmare, you come to me, okay? No arguments'' he says with a smile.

'Okay,' I reply.

''I'll let you finish changing or whatever you were doing here...'' he says gently and kisses my cheek.

I then brush my teeth and finish changing.

--------------------

After a delicious and entertaining evening in a restaurant, Maria, Lewis, Lando, Charles and I arrive at our apartment. After getting out of the car, I recognize a person standing in front of the front door.We are approaching. I am startled.

'Dad...' I say, startled.

Lewis immediately recognizes him too. I wanted to reach for Lando's hand, but I couldn't.

'amalia...lewis...' his sad voice rang out.

We ran inside together.

'Are you okay?' his voice whispers in my ear.

I respond with a nod. We all sit down in the living room and I sit next to Lewis and squeeze his hand tightly.

"What are you doing here after all these years, father?" Lewis asks in a stern voice.

The other three were standing in the kitchen and I'm sure they could hear every single word from the living room.

''I'm sorry to tell you that your mother was found dead in her apartment today...'' he said slowly.

An unfamiliar feeling envelops me. I catch sight of Lewis, who looks at our father in shock.

"And how do you know that?" Lewis asks him skeptically.

'The police called me...' he replies.

"What did she die of?" I ask.

'Liver failure...' he replies.

I look into the kitchen. His worried eyes look into mine. But when Lewis hugs me, I focus completely on my broken brother.

'You could have sent us a message...' I say, holding Lewis close to me.

'I wanted to see how you were doing,' he says quietly.

'You haven't contacted us once in all these years. You don't give a shit about us, Dad and we've accepted that, so don't pretend you care about us for once...'' I say harshly but honestly.

'Amalia, I'm serious. I'm sorry for abandoning you and Lewis so early...I just couldn't take it anymore'' he tries to put on a good front.

''and you didn't give a shit how we were doing...mom got so much worse when you were gone...'' I reply brokenly.

''I know...''

'You don't know shit, father. Get out before I forget myself,'' Lewis says in a raised voice.

His fists clench.

'Get down, bro...' Lando intervened as Lewis raised his hand.
