''Let me carry you upstairs...'' said my brother as we re-entered the apartment after my long-term hospital stay.

I wasn't quite fit yet, but I was glad to be home again. Lando and I didn't get a chance to talk yet. My brother took me up to my room, where he and the others left me alone for the time being. There I unpacked my things in peace and quiet and came back inside.

*knock knock*

Turning around, I see him enter.

''Do you have a moment?'' he asks gently.

''Of course...'' I reply, putting away the things in my hands.

He closes the door behind him.

''How do you feel?'' he asks me, leaning against the door.

My body lowers onto my bed, our eyes connecting again.

''I'm not quite fit yet, to be honest..but definitely better than I was a few weeks ago...'' I reply.

''You know if you need anything, you can call for me...'' he says softly, his eyes piercing mine.

''We haven't really had a moment to talk about us...''

''you're right, amalia..but before that, there's something else I need to tell you...'' he responds, slightly hesitant.

''What is it?'' I fear the worst.

''Do you still remember Luisa?...'' he asks, again hesitantly.

''Do you mean the one who cleaned your wounds when you got into a fight because of me?

I nod my head.

''What about her?'' I ask, taking a deep breath.

''She's going to move in with us for a few weeks...''

''What? Why...? I didn't like the idea.

''She has financial and family problems, Amalia...'' Lando explained.

''And I assume she's going to sleep in your room...'' I responded, unenthusiastically.

''Charles is occupying the guest room...my room is the only one with space left...''

''So typical again...'' I reply, averting my eyes.

''amalia...''

''Look at me, dear...'' he prompts, stepping closer to me.

Slightly hurt eyes look into his, gradually standing in front of me.

''Nothing will happen between me and her...'' he whispers, his hand cupping my cheek.

''I know what makes women tick...she wants something from you, I saw that back then...don't take me for a fool...'' I respond stubbornly, keeping my eyes on his.

''Do you trust me that little?

''Look into the past and then you can answer the question yourself...'' I reply, still stubborn.

He takes a step into the distance.

''I'll let you get better first...'' he says dejectedly and leaves my room.

''Fuck...'' I curse under my breath.

In the evening, I feel hungry, so I make my way downstairs. Loud voices plus their laughter drew me into the living room. There they were, Lando, Charles, Alexandra, Maria, Lewis and Luisa. Ouch. None of them considered calling me down.

''Hey sis...'' Lewis noticed me.

In a bad mood and not answering, I make my way to the kitchen, where I make myself some tea and soup.

''Is everything okay, sweetie?'' Maria's voice sounds behind me.

''Yes...'' I lie.

''Just tell me what's wrong...'' she argues, taking a seat next to me.

''None of you thought it was necessary to call me down...'' I say it now.

''Because we thought you wanted to rest...forgive us, we didn't know...'' says Maria.

Unhappily, I rest my head on her shoulder.

''I'm sorry, Maria...nothing is working at the moment...'' I said, lost in thought.

''It's okay...the others and I know what a time you're going through...'' she shows tenderness towards me.

''thank you...''

''Will you join us then?'' Maria replied as I took my head from her shoulder.

''In a moment...'' I respond.

Steps follow back into the living room. Minutes later, I followed her steps. I sat down on a single couch, placing my tea and soup on the table in front of me. Looking up, I look at him, his eyes already on me.

''You're Amalia, right?'' came her tender voice.

Luisa spoke to me, sitting next to Maria on the couch.

''Yes...'' I responded kindly, knowing that it meant a lot to Lando.

''We've already had the pleasure...right?

''Yes...'' I replied.

My eyes fell on the game the six of them were playing. I didn't fit in. As my eyes drifted outside, I slowly ate my soup, losing my appetite with every bite. In time, I placed the scarves on the table in front of me and rejoined reality. Comfortably settled on the couch, I watched the six of them play the game they were playing. Our eyes met again and again. But the vibrating of my cell phone on my lap distracted my gaze.

*1 new message via Instagram*

I opened it.

*Matteo.Sici has sent you a message

I scrolled through his profile in amazement and he looked familiar.

''lewis?'' I look up from my cell phone again.

All the pairs of eyes present land on me.

''Do you know a Matteo or one of you?'' I ask the group.

His facial expressions became contorted.

''Yes...he was at one of our parties at some point...Lando brought a lady with him once, I think it was her ex-boyfriend,'' Lewis explains to me.

''ah right, I remember...'' I realize.

''Why do you ask?

''He just followed me on Instagram...'' I tell him honestly.

I look at the astonished faces. My gaze dropped to my cell phone again. Of course, I didn't tell them about the message I had just received.

Matteo: ''Hello Amalia...I don't know if you remember me. We had a brief conversation at your brother's party...''

Me: ''hey, everything's fine, I remember. Matteo, right?''

Matteo: ''right...''

Me: ''what gives me the honor?''

Matteo:'' I wanted to ask if you'd like to go on a date with me?''

Shocked, I drop my cell phone, raising my eyes again and meeting his eyes exactly. Anything but amused. His eyes looked hurt. Should I give Matteo a chance or wait for Lewis to finally allow me to get close to Lando?
