''Mr. Hamilton...your sister was hit hard on the head...we had to put her in an induced coma...I'm very sorry,'' the doctor explains.
I immediately reach for Maria's hand, which supports me.
''But she'll be fine, won't she?'' Maria asks anxiously.
''We can't say for sure... we have to wait and hope that she wakes up on her own...'' the doctor's voice rang out again.
I hugged Maria close to me.
''Amalia will be fine, she's strong...'' I whisper to Maria, whose tears I wipe away.
''Why did she do that?''
''Because she didn't want to lose him...'' Maria answers me.
''And risk her life for it?'' I respond, which I can't understand.
I look gently into her eyes.
''Maybe it's about time you stopped interfering...and that they can finally be happy...'' Maria's soft voice sounds.
''First Amalia has to wake up again...'' I kiss Maria on the forehead.

Lando's POV:
With a hellish headache, I slowly open my eyes. I immediately realized that I was not at home. Three pairs of worried eyes are looking at me. Her beautiful eyes were missing.
''Oh God...'' says my father in tears, hugging me lightly.
Unable to take it in, I respond with a smile.
''I'm fine...'' I say.
''We were so scared for you, bro...'' Lewis says, touching my shoulder.
Looking around, I just look for her. But Maria's crying distracts me for a moment.
''Maria... it's all right. Why are you crying?'' I ask, confused, trying to sit up.
She gets up and puts the bracelet that Amalia gave me in the palm of my hand. I was all the more confused.
''Why do you have this?'' I ask.
No answer.
''people damn it! Where is Amalia? Please tell me she's okay...'' I panicked.
I looked at Maria's crying face and realized it was serious.
''Lewis...please...'' I pleaded.
''She saved you...from the burning car...and when she went to get the bracelet out of the car, it exploded behind her...'' my father explained to me, just as close to tears.
My face turned to the voice. My heart.
''w-what?'' I ask, completely stunned, clutching my heart.
''She had to be put into an induced coma...'' Lewis added.
Laying down, my tears ran, my palm wrapping around the bracelet.
''She'll be fine...'' my dad tried to reassure me.
''I need to see her...'' I said, completely broken.
''you have to get better yourself first, son...''
''Dad...I don't care at all right now...I just want to see her...'' I said through my tears.
''I'll ask the nurse...'' said Maria.
''Thank you...'' i answered absent.
-----------------
''Try to sit upright, Mr. Norris,'' said the nurse.
I carried out this order and she helped me get into the wheelchair. Lewis wheeled the wheelchair for me to her hospital room. My heart ached. Taking a deep breath, we reached her room. How she lay there. Ouch.
''Oh my God...'' I say, completely broken, barely able to even look at her.
''We'll leave you alone for a moment...'' my dad informs me, who has pushed me to the edge of her bed.
In tears, I hardly dare to touch her, in fear of hurting her even more than before. The tube in her neck and the bandage around her head. Lowering my head, I rest my face on her hand.
''I'm so sorry, dear...'' I whisper through my tears, bitter and shaky.
''You are strong, Amalia...please wake up for me...''
''We need more time...please...'' I begged her, my voice shaking.
Now her hand is wet. With shaky hands, I put the bracelet around her wrist.
''I love you...don't let this be the end of us...''I whisper.
-------------
Weak and in pain, I saw the brightness of my room, which didn't look familiar. Weakly, I tried to orient myself. I felt weight on my right hand. Looking down, I immediately spotted his curly hair.
''Oh my God, amalia...'' came Lewis' loud voice, who had just entered the room with Maria and Charles.
Immediately, the weight on my palm lifted. The nurse came in, who, together with another nurse, removed the tube from my throat. Visibly uncomfortable.
''Thank God you're all right...'' Lewis spoke again, kissing my forehead.
But my eyes sank into his, which I had longed for so long.
''What happened?'' I averted my eyes.
Charles smiled at me. Maria hugs me gently.
''I'm okay, Maria...'' I say softly, trying to wipe away her tears.
''You saved Lando, but when you went to get something from the car, the car exploded behind you...'' Lewis explains to me.
My eyes immediately land on his again, standing inconspicuously at the back. I was so longing for his voice.
''How long have I been away?'' I ask again.
''Almost a month...''
''What?'' I ask, completely shocked.
Lewis captures my forehead with a kiss.
''Will you leave me alone with her for a moment?'' comes his voice, the voice I have longed for so long.
My heart warms immediately. Nodding, the three of them leave my hospital room. Now our eyes sink into each other.
''I'm so sorry...for everything...and what I said to you before the race...'' he apologizes sincerely.
''Please come closer...'' I say gently.
''I don't want to hurt you, amalia...'' he says anxiously.
''you could never hurt me..sit down..please lando'' I say tenderly, reaching my hand out to him.
He sits down next to my legs on the hospital bed.
''Are you sure you're okay?'' he asks gently.
''I think so...I need to process the whole thing first...'' I respond, our eyes never leaving each other.
Exhausted, I put my head down.
''I know...get some rest...'' he says softly, stroking my face gently.
''Please stay, norris...'' I whisper.
I feel a gentle kiss on my forehead and my tired eyelids close. I also feel the warmth of the blanket he drapes over my body.
