Summary: Due to the reasons behind Bella's sickness being caused by a pregnancy, Hayes falls into a stressful panicked state. Bella, being the concerned lover she is, tries to calm him down and shine some light on the situation.

....

That stomach. One and a half months along, yet had the size of nearly four months. It only made the chameleon's panic a lot worse. It was a nightmare.

Bella looked at her lover with concern. She should've been careful. She wished she knew earlier on. Way back before the... incident. But then again, it was her own fault for being too stubborn.

Ever since the incident in which her dad threatened Fantoccio and Billie and nearly attacked Slow Seline, Fern, and Bittergiggle, everyone has been on edge.

Now...the cold sick world decided to further complicate things. By throwing a baby into the picture. An innocent baby. A little bundle of joy that never even asked to be thrown into chaos. But God made it their problem anyway.

The very thing that was growing inside of Bella. Using her womb as a protective dwelling until it was ready to enter the world. The very thing that was forcing Bella into actual motherhood very early.

A little baby girl or baby boy that Bella would one day hold lovingly into her arms. It wasn't too much of a problem for Bella. After all, she already had children. She and Boxy Boo adopted Roxy, Soxy, and Paul. She created Indigo, Magenta, and Lavender so Catnap could receive his dream of fatherhood.

So, while she was nervous considering it was the first pregnancy, she was sure she could handle it. But then, again, that didn't mean everyone was feeling the same mood as she was.

She remembered how it took a lot of convincing for her to finally agree to visit the doctor. She had a bad experience with doctors when she was a young girl.

She distrusted them to the point where she wouldn't let a Fabletown doctor, Swineheart, examine her after Lily's funeral went wrong. She tried to politely tell him he didn't need to. However, the moment he gently grabbed her hands, fear has instantly taken over.

She had jerked away while yelling a loud 'NO!', holding her arm and looking at the surprised doctor with a fearful look. Then, she left the library, and only came back in when Swineheart had left.

Throughout the few weeks, Bella's nausea had worsened. Throwing up burning acid constantly, and creating many holes in the floors and grounds depending on where she was.

Not to mention the fatigue and mood swings she was experiencing. The tiredness and the constant feelings of sadness and anger were getting on her nerves. And some people seemed to notice she was gaining some weight. Not too much. Just a small bump that was a bit noticeable.

Everyone had tried to convince her to see a doctor. But Bella, due to her bad incident with one, kept refusing until Hayes tried next. This time, being gentle and more concerned when doing so. He succeeded pretty well to the point that Bella sighed in defeat and accepted it. Though, she made it pretty clear that if things went wrong, it would be the last doctor visit.

So, you might be wondering. Did it go well?

Well, the answer was pretty complicated. Bella kept giving the doctor a distrusted look, which made him a bit uncomfortable. To ease up the tension, Hayes told the doctor to try to make the examination as quick as possible.

Unlike last time, Bella didn't experience any agonizing pain. The doctor gave her a painless examination, which she was thankful for and started to lessen her distrust.

However, both she and Hayes weren't prepared for the horrifying news the doctor had gave them. The news that was the exact reason why Hayes was shaking stressfully in his bedsheets.
