78 - Beneath His Cold Eyes

'' Have you gone insane? Do you even have any idea what you just did?'' Gia was scolding Jhanvi on her way back home.

''I've been by her side for all these years Gia. I'm not sure when I first developed feelings for her. It was wrong... no, I was confused. At the time, and at that age, I had no idea what was going on. It was never the same as when I saw Lechu for the first time.'' Jhanvi continued mumbling about her past while gazing out the car window.

Gia took a deep breath as he looked at Jhanvi in the rear view mirror of the car.
'' I tried my best to tell her everything, but there was always fear within me. What would happen if ......?''
"Lechu could say no. She might have an odd feeling about me. She could confuse our friendship because I developed feelings for her. I couldn't find the right words to express how much I love Lechu. I wasn't sure if there were any words that would help me express my feelings for her. But, even now, all I need in this world is Lakshmi. "No one understands that..... My family.....''

''I understand'' Gia replied.

Jhanvi scoffed in dismay as she replied.

"Does that count?" Jhanvi asked.

"Why can't you say that on Lakshmi's face as I confessed  to you?" Gia inquired

"Because I still have a huge burden on my name.... Rathore...... Jhanvi Singh Rathore and now she also has the same. Mrs. Adrushta Lakshmi Devdutta Prathap Singh Rathore.

''Yuvi first came between us, and now Dev. Yuvi was never my main concern, but Dev........ He is tenacious. He will not give up easily because I can see the same feelings in his eyes for Lakshmi that I do. Aside from killing him, I don't know how to get Lakshmi and escape this family hell loop. I just want to go far away from here with Lechu and live a peaceful life where no one questions or separates us. I want to protect her from anyone who tries to manipulate her about our relationship. I am sure she will understand me one day.'' Jhanvi said

'' You're playing with fire, Jhanvi. Do you even know what loop you've been caught in? Gia advises her
'' In order to cover up one mistake, you continue to make mistakes, which will never stop.'' Gia added

''No.... It's going to end. As I said before, Dev must die. Lakshmi needs to be alone. Once he ends, the Rathore family will fail. Those power hungry bloods of the Rathore family will fight with each other for power, or I will make them fight, and one by one everything will be finished,'' Jhanvi said.

''You should have done that before.'' Gia replied

"I should have, but I made a mistake.....I thought Dev would be done forever, but I never imagined that God would give him a second chance in life. I will not repeat that mistake. When Lakshmi is on his side, it is difficult to defeat him. But I know what I need to do. '' Jhanvi shouted 

''GIA......''

''tell me." Gia responded quickly,

"It is time to meet him, Sameer. I'm going to give him one last chance to be faithful to me. Only he can finish Dev without leaving a trace. After that, I'll give him whatever he wants.'' Jhanvi smiled devilishly and relaxed in her car seat.

"Gia, drop me at my place," Jhanvi told her.

"It's already late. Your dad has been calling me asking for you '' Gia said reluctantly

'' Hell with them..... Do as I say Gia. You wont listen to me ? '' Jhanvi leaned forward to Gia's seat from back and trailed her one finger over her cheek making Gia quiver with some kind of feeling which she was longing for. Jhanvi laughed hysterically watching that and fell back to the seat.
