Two little fingers tap against Liv's face, a sniffle coming from the owner of the fingers. Liv stirs slowly, swatting the hand away in her sleep.
"Mommy," a little voice says.
"Ivy?" Olivia asks, opening her eyes and looking at the silhouette of the small girl next to her bed. "Baby girl, what's wrong?" she asks as Ivy steps closer, into the light.
"Mommy I had a bad dream," Ivy sniffles, rubbing her eyes as Liv sits up, placing her hands under her arms and lifting her up onto her lap. The little girl straddles her mother's lap, wrapping her arms tightly around the older woman's neck.
"It's okay," Olivia soothes, rubbing her daughters back in circles while she cries. Ivy is eight now and she has a wild imagination, this isn't the first time her wild imagination has led to a long night of crying. Liv is just thankful that it is a Friday night, and neither of them need to be anywhere in the morning. She looks at the clock and it is 4am. "Do you want to sleep with Mommy?" Liv asks, brushing Ivy's blonde hair behind her ear.
"Yes please," she sniffles, laying down with her mother and cuddling her side, still sniffling.
"You wanna talk about it honey?" Liv asks gently, still rubbing her back. She knows her daughter well, she knows that tickling her back in circles calms her down.
"A dragon took you away," She says sadly and Liv pouts at her.
"Oh Ivy, my darling. Well you don't have to worry about that happening to me," Liv smiles, kissing her forehead. "Try to go back to sleep baby," She says and Ivy nods, squeezing her eyes shut. Liv stays awake until she knows Ivy is asleep, and she closes her own eyes, her arm still around her baby girl as they both sleep peacefully together.
Olivia wakes to the sun streaming through the gaps in her blinds, she checks the clock and it's 10:30 am. The bed next to her is cold and empty, Ivy has probably been up for hours. She slips out of bed and wraps herself in a robe, walking to the open kitchen- living room area of her apartment, where she can hear the soft sound of the TV.
She stops in the doorway, watching Ivy on the floor playing with her dolls while some cartoon plays as background noise. "Good morning my princess," Liv says walking towards Ivy who is smiling.
"Hi Mommy, I'm hungry," she says and Liv laughs.
"You're always hungry," she teases and Ivy giggles, rocking her baby doll. She follows her mother into the kitchen and watches as she opens the fridge. "You want eggs for breakfast?" Olivia asks and Ivy nods.
"Can you make some for Bella too please mommy?" she asks, referring to her baby and Olivia nods.
"Bella takes after her mommy," Liv says, cracking eggs in a bowl. "She's always hungry too." Ivy giggles, putting Bella on the floor and running to the couch. "You can't leave her on the floor, that's neglect," Liv teases.
"But Mommy I want to watch TV," she says, sitting cross legged on the couch. Liv smiles to herself as she picks up the toy doll, putting it on the table.
"What do you want to do today?" She asks her daughter who shrugs. "Helpful," Liv mumbles, scrambling the eggs and putting some bread in the toaster.
"We could go to the park?" Liv suggests and she doesn't get an answer. "Hello, earth to Ivy." Ivy still ignores her mother, engrossed in her show. Liv butters the toast and puts the eggs on top, sliding them onto a plate.
"Princess Ivyyyyy," she calls, putting the plates on the table and walking over to the TV, turning it off.
"Hey!" Ivy shouts and Liv stands in front of her with her hands on her hips.
"Breakfast, I've been calling you," The older brunette says to the small pouty blonde.
Ivy gets up and sits at the table, her legs swinging while she eats. "Can we go to the park?" she asks and Liv laughs.
"I already asked you that when you were ignoring me," she says, raising her brow. "Are we taking your new bike?" she asks and Ivy nods enthusiastically.
"Maybe I will learn to ride like a big girl today," Ivy smiles, biting her toast.
"Maybe," Liv smiles, wishing her little girl would stop growing up so quickly. She wishes Elliot were here to teach their daughter to ride a bike, to watch her grow. He doesn't even know about her and Liv has no way of contacting him. If Elliot Stabler wanted to be found, Liv would have found him by now.
"What thinking about?" Ivy asks sweetly and Liv smiles.
"Just wishing you would stop growing," she sighs and Ivy smiles at her.
"I have to grow big and strong so I can be like you, Mommy," Ivy grins.
