"Where would you like to go for your birthday?" Olivia asks Ivy as they eat dinner. She is turning nine soon and she has expressed several times that she doesn't want a party.

"Can we go to the funfair?" she asks, referring to the pier at the beach. "With Emily and your friends?"

Emily is Ivy's best friend in the whole world, she is a sweet little girl and Liv loves spending time with her. "Of course," Liv smiles. "Which ones of my friends would you like to come?"

"Uh," Ivy thinks. "Auntie Manda and Uncle Fin?" she suggests with a cheeky smile. Uncle Fin is her favourite and he knows it.

"I will send them an invite," Liv smiles, getting her phone out and texting her colleagues. "I'll text Emily's mom too."

"Mommy?" Ivy asks, twirling her spaghetti on her fork. "Will I get to meet my daddy for this birthday?"

Liv feels her heart drop and she smiles sadly, "I don't think so, my love," she says truthfully. Like any child, Ivy has always had questions and Liv has always tried to answer them.

"Okay," Ivy shrugs sadly. "You made good spaghetti this time mommy."

Liv laughs, "Thanks for your approval baby girl."

It's a beautiful sunny day at the fairground. Liv and her little daughter stroll hand in hand onto the pier. The air is filled with the scent of cotton candy and the sound of laughter. Ivy's eyes light up with excitement as she sees the colourful rides and games. Olivia's smile is as bright as the sun, enjoying this special moment with her precious girl. They walk along the pier, their steps in sync, creating memories that will last a lifetime. It's a heartwarming scene, full of love and joy.

"Emily!" Ivy calls, letting go of her mom's hand and running over to her redheaded friend. Emily is grinning a gappy smile as she waits with her own Mom, her face flecked with freckles. They embrace in a friendly hug as they wait for Olivia to catch up.

"Hi Emily," Olivia smiles, standing next to the girls. "Thank you for coming," she smiles, looking at Emily's mom. "Are you staying Bex?" she asks warmly.

"Emily asked me to leave her here," she laughs. "Is that alright with you?"

"Of course," Liv smiles. "Two kids I can handle." She looks around for her own friends as Bex says goodbye to Emily.

"Liv!" Amanda calls, walking over with Fin and Jesse toddling in front of them. Liv smiles, scooping up the three year old in her arms.

"Hi beautiful girl," Liv grins. "Hi Jesse," Ivy says, tickling her little friend.

"Thank you for coming," Olivia smiles at her friends.

"Happy birthday Baby Benson!" Fin says, picking Ivy up and spinning her around. Ivy giggles loudly as she spins.

"Who needs rollercoasters when you have Uncle Fin," Amanda smirks.

"My turn next!" Emily giggles, walking over to Fin.

Liv and Amanda head to a bench, Jesse still in the brunette's arms.

"Ivy asked about Elliot last week," Olivia tells her blonde friend. "She wanted to know if she could meet him for her birthday."

"What did you say?" Amanda asks.

"What could I say other than no. I can't find any way to contact him." Olivia explains and Amanda nods.

"She doesn't need a daddy," Amanda shrugs, "You do a great job."

"Thanks," Liv smiles, kissing Jesse's cheek, "I miss Ivy being this small."

"Mommmyyyy," Ivy shouts from Fin's arms where he is holding both girls upside down. "Can we go on the horsey ride now?"

"The carousel?" Liv laughs. "Sure we can."

The small group head on over to the carousel, they ride it until Ivy decides she feels dizzy, everyone laughing and having fun. "This is the best birthday ever!" Ivy squeals.

I think I'm kinda bored of small Ivy. Thinking of skipping ahead to Ivy's teenage years. Thoughts???
