Olivia walks into the kitchen with Noah on her breast. Kathleen decided to go home early, cutting her trip short. It was upsetting for everyone, but she said she needed some space. They all understood, and Liv assured her that she would be waiting for her when she's ready.

Maureen and Carl are house hunting. It is going to be a while before they can travel again, so they figured they could find somewhere small and cheap and either relocate or rent the place out when they eventually go home. The boys are staying for the rest of the summer, they are loving their daily walks. Elliot reckons they are going to meet girls.

Liv looks around the kitchen at her family. Bernie at the head of the table, Eli and Dickie either side of her. Elliot is at the other end, helping Isabella eat a yoghurt and Ivy is scrolling her phone as she eats a bowl of cereal.

"Mom, is Lizzie okay?" Liv asks Bernie. "I haven't seen her for a few days."

"She said she has the flu," Bernie says. "I haven't seen her since her date, she won't come out of her room– she says she doesn't want to get anyone sick." Bernie explains and dread washes over Olivia.

"El, can you look after Noah?" she asks, passing the baby to her husband. "I'm going to check on Lizzie."

"Liv?" Bernie questions.

"It might be nothing, she might really have the flu," Liv says. "I just have a bad feeling," she explains as she slips her feet into her crocs and makes the short walk down to Bernie and Lizzie's cottage. She lets herself in and wanders down the hall to Elizabeth's bedroom.

"Lizzie?" she says through the door, knocking gently. "Can I come in?"

"No, I'm sick," Lizzie says weakly.

"Let me see you, please," Liv says, "I'm coming in." She pushes open the door and her heart immediately breaks when she sees the bruise on Lizzie's face. "Oh baby girl," she says, sitting on the bed. "What happened? Did that guy do this to you?"

"Please don't tell dad, he will murder him," she sniffles and Olivia pulls her close.

"You mean if I don't get to him first," she says. "Did he do anything else?"

"You mean rape me?" Lizzie says. "My clothes are in that black bag and I haven't showered," she sniffles.

"Okay," Liv says, going into detective mode. "I need to take you to the hospital."

"You can't drive," Lizzie reminds her and Liv sighs.

"I know you don't want to, but you need to let me tell dad," She says gently. "You can't hide in your room forever, sweet girl."

"Okay," she agrees shakily. "Will you help me get dressed?"

"Of course," Liv says, helping her out of the bed and noticing more bruises and bite marks on her body. Her heart breaks. No matter how much experience she has with this, she never expected it to happen to one of her children. She helps Lizzie into some loose fitting clothes and they walk together up to the house.
