"Shh, Shh," Liv says against Elliot's lips as they make love

"Shh, Shh," Liv says against Elliot's lips as they make love. "Did you hear that?"

"Hear what?" Elliot asks, his mouth moving to Liv's neck. It is 1am on a Friday night, and everything is quiet. Except for this banging noise.

"That," Liv says again as it sounds like the door of the apartment opens. "Get my gun," she says seriously as Elliot gets off the bed and pulls on his boxers. He takes Liv's gun and slowly exits the bedroom, tiptoeing across the hallway.

"Freeze!" He shouts, turning on the light switch and aiming the gun.

"Ivy!?" Liv shouts, a sheet wrapped around her naked body. "We could've shot you. What the hell are you doing?" she asks. She looks her daughter up and down, she is fully clothed and she has her shoes on and her hair is wet. "Have you been out?"

"I-I," she stutters.

"We're cops, kid. Don't lie to us," Elliot says, putting the gun on the table.

"Did you sneak out?" Liv asks, her voice louder as her anger grows. "Are you stupid? Do you have any idea what could've happened to you?" she shouts.

"Okay," Elliot says calmly. "Why don't we all go to bed, and we can talk about this in the morning." He suggests. He has been seeing Liv again for a few months now. He has built a relationship with his daughter, and he knows better than to ambush her right now. "Come on," he says to Liv, gently guiding her back to her bedroom.

"Ivy go to bed," He tells her, and she nods, walking silently to her room.

"What was she thinking, El?" Liv says angrily. "She knows what we do for work. She knows what could've happened to her."

"She's a kid," Elliot says. "Are you telling me you never snuck out at night?"

"That's besides the point," Liv says as she gets back into bed. "She knows better."

"Go to sleep," Elliot tells her, pulling the sheet off her body and sliding it over himself, too.

They sit at the kitchen table as they wait for Ivy to wake up. Liv is cradling a coffee while Elliot eats eggs. "That smells awful," She tells him, turning her nose up.

"Eggs? Eggs smell awful?" Elliot frowns. "What is wrong with you?"

"What did you put on them?" Liv asks, her stomach churning.

"Nothin," El says, looking up at Ivy as she walks out of her room like a bear with a sore head.

"Hungover?" Liv asks, her brow raised at her daughter. "That'll teach you."

"I didn't drink that much," Ivy says, sitting down on the couch with a pout.

"Ivy," Liv sighs, getting up and going to sit next to her. "You're stupid." Ivy turns her head away, and Liv gently lifts her chin so they are making eye contact. "I know that I did a good job of raising you, I know that you wouldn't put yourself in danger like that." She says on the verge of tears.

"What the hell happened?" She asks her daughter, who now has a concerned look on her face.

"I didn't mean to upset you, mommy," she says seriously. "Kayla just asked if I wanted to sit on the roof with her and some boys."

"This was Kayla's idea?" she asks. Kayla lives in the building. She goes to Ivy's school, and she has always been a bad influence.

"Hold on," Elliot says. "Boys? Did they touch you cos I'll kill em?!"

"No, no one touched me," Ivy says seriously. "I'm sorry, Mommy, please don't be mad." She slings her arms around her mother and squeezes her tight.

Liv sighs, moving her hand to the back of her daughter's head. "I'm not mad, just don't do it again, please. I have enough work stress without having to worry about the same thing happening to you."

The sound of Elliot scraping off his plate sends shivers down Liv's spine, and she whips her head round to face him. "For god's sake, El, stop that!"

"Jeez, I think someone is getting their monthlies," Elliot says, holding his hands up in surrender as he walks to the dishwasher to discard his plate. "I'm gonna head home for the rest of the day, I have some work to do."

Elliot bends down to kiss Liv's forehead before grabbing his keys and leaving the apartment. "Are you okay, Mommy?" Ivy asks quietly, still in her mother's arms, and Liv smiles, nodding.

"I'm just tired," She says, cuddling her daughter close.

"Mom?"

"Yes?"

"Can we get a puppy?" Ivy asks sweetly, and Liv smiles, running her fingers through Ivy's hair again. "Emily's dog had puppies, and she said I could have one for free."

"You're allergic to dogs," Liv reminds her, and she sits up, looking at her mom with a cheeky grin.

"Well, she's a Cavapoo, and they are hypoallergenic," Ivy smiles. "I did my research. Please, I promise I will be good for the rest of my life."

"Show me," Liv says, and Ivy pulls up a photo of this cute, blonde ball of fluff. "Oh," she sighs, falling in love with the puppy as soon as she sees it. She is never this soft, and she never caves this easily. "Okay."

"Really?" Ivy asks, shocked. "We can pick her up today. She's been ready for a week!"

"Okay," Liv grins, loving her daughter's excitement. "Let's get dressed and go pick her up."

Two hours later, they are wandering around Petco, the little puppy tucked in Ivy's arms. "What are we going to call her?" Liv asks her daughter as they pick out a collar and lead.

"Hmmm, Primrose," Ivy says, cuddling the dog.

"That's pretty," Liv says as she picks up a lilac collar and matching lead, showing them to Ivy, who nods. "We need bowls and a bed, too."

"Over here," Ivy says, pointing at the duck egg blue ceramic bowls on the bottom shelf. Liv bends down to pick two up and sways when she stands, feeling dizzy.

"Are you okay, Mama?" Ivy asks, concerned, and Liv smiles at her daughter.

"I think I just stood up too fast," She says. "Pick a bed."

Ivy picks a grey fluffy bed that is three times the size of the dog, and Liv laughs, carrying it to the checkout. "Welcome to the family, Primrose."
