"So I was thinking," Olivia says from the table as they eat their dinner. Elliot and Ivy look at one another before looking back at Liv. "What?" she laughs."Well the last time you said you were thinking, we ended up moving to Italy," Elliot teases, and she scrunches her nose and sticks her tongue out.
"This is about the garden, the Orchard if you will," She says. "I've been doing research and talking to Dr. Rossi's husband, Aldo, and he says that with the right equipment and staff, we could have a real, functioning orchard that will make us money," she smiles.
"Just a suggestion," she says, sucking the inside of her cheek as Elliot looks at her.
"This is why you are the brains of the relationship," He smiles. "Does Aldo think this is something we could actually do?"
"He does," she smiles. "He also said that once the Orchard is up and running, tourists like to have tours, picnics, weddings, and stuff in places like this. We could do Italian summer orchard weddings," she claps excitedly.
"You're really into this idea, huh?" he smirks, sliding his fork into his mouth.
"I think it sounds great," Ivy says, sipping her freshly squeezed orange juice. "This is yummy. You could work out a way to sell it in cartons from the orchard," she giggles, fueling her mother's fire.
"That's another great idea," she says, looking at Elliot. "What do you think?"
"I think..." he smiles at her, taking her hand. "I think we get the house to where we need it to be, and then we figure out the logistics of the Orchard," he smiles. "Stabler Orchard?"
"I think Benson's Orchard sounds better," Liv says with a shrug. "Just saying."
"Again, we can figure out the logistics at a later date," Elliot smirks, sipping his wine. "I'm going to invite my mother to come and stay with us soon. Ivy still needs to meet her, and you know she always loved you," He smiles at Liv. "She will probably want to be around to help when the baby comes."
"That sounds lovely," Olivia smiles. "I love Bernadette."
"I can't wait to meet her," Ivy says seriously. "I've never had grandparents before." Liv smiles sadly at her daughter, wishing she could've had that experience, but knowing it was never meant to be. At least not from her side of things.
"Don't be sad, mom," Ivy says gently. "I didn't mean it like, in a bad way."
"I know," Liv smiles, wiping her eyes. "You know I cry at everything these days."
"I know," Ivy smiles, taking her plate and grabbing her parents' plates too. "I'll clean up."
"You're such a good girl," Liv smiles, "Whoever raised you did a wonderful job." She says, and Ivy smiles proudly at her mother. Liv couldn't believe how grown up she was. She was fourteen now, but she was practically an adult. It wouldn't be long before she was moving out and starting her own life with her own family.
