Marine sprayed a cloud of hairspray around me and grinned at me in the mirror. "Alright Jordan I think I'm done. You look fucking hot girl. Damn that is your color... it makes your eyes look crazy green. I love it. If you see Jay tell him I'm done with everyone else and I'm getting myself ready now."
"Thank you Marine. You made me look like I actually slept some last night. I know it was a challenge." I laughed as I stood. She had gotten my limp locks to actually curl nicely tonight and I was impressed. I did look great... what a waste. I thought in my head, at least I'll appreciate it, it's not like anyone else will. The downside of being married to your job. "See you in a bit. I have to get my jewelry and then make sure Austin is ready."
I hopped from the chair she had pulled into the bathroom off "my" bedroom as she gathered her things to rush off to the room she and Jay were staying in to get herself ready.
I looked myself over in the mirror as I put my earrings in. This green is my color. I have to admit I've always loved wearing it. The dress was vintage (unsurprising I'm sure) Bottega, high necked and long sleeve, it was tight and fit like it was made for me. It hit me mid thigh and had a unique two piece look, showing just a tiny amount of skin at my waist where the fabric twisted into a knot on the side holding the top and bottom together. The fabric had just a hint of sparkle to it. I paired it with my favorite black Chanel peep toe stiletto booties.
I heard a tap at my door and walked over and opened it, it was Austin, he was partially dressed. Missing his jacket and shoes and had something clutched in his hand. He had listened to me, his hair was cut but he left the hint of curls and either he or Raj had styled it for him, defining them just a bit. His beard was still long, but definitely had been shaped up and trimmed. He also smelled fabulous, but god he always did.
"Hey Jordan.... Whoa.." he stopped dead in his tracks and looked me up and down. "You look... fantastic. Shit." He mumbled.
I shook my head at him. "Thank you Austin. You need me?"
"Uhh.. yeah.." he said with a strained laugh. "I dropped the back to one of these earrings and I can't find it. I think it rolled under the island in the closet. Will any screwback's fit these or do you have any?" He asked opening his palm to show me two ice cube sized diamond earrings.
"Let me see what I have. Who made these? Are they custom?"
"Yeah Ari made them, I have another pair he made. Would those fit?" He asked still staring at me.
"Probably but hold on.. let me see." I reached out for the earrings and he dropped them in my hand. I turned away from him and started looking through my own jewelry. I found a pair with close to the same size posts as his and tried them, thankfully they fit.
"Here. This one works. I want it back if you can find the other though, these are my favorites." I said, handing them back to him. "If we can't find it it's not a huge deal though, really. I can order some."
"Thanks.. I'll get it back to you tonight. Just don't let me forget... you wanted to find some shoes?" He asked, lingering for a moment while I started to put on a bracelet, I fumbled it slightly and almost dropped it.
"Here.. let me.." he said pocketing the earrings and holding his hand out for the bracelet. I handed it to him and he gently took my wrist and clasped the bracelet for me.
"Thank you, it's always a bitch... yeah, the shoes. They are Loubs. Just black, plain loafers..." I said as we both walked out of the room and down the hall to his bedroom. I knew his closet about as well as I knew my own and I was pretty sure I knew exactly where they were, even if his closet is as big as my actual bedroom.
