This week has passed way way too quickly and there is nothing about the next week away from Austin I'm looking forward too. We both leave tomorrow, me early in the morning and him later in the afternoon, so of course I have to be the one leaving him and I'm already upset about it. I also get home a day before him which is another huge bummer since he won't be here when I get back.

I'm trying to be happy though because tonight is our last night together and it's his birthday dinner. He insisted on grilling us steaks and I'm expecting him here any minute. He's been at his place all day, last minute meetings about the upcoming tour, he also had the actual interview for Rolling Stone this afternoon that is going along with the photo shoot. He's been as busy as I have the last couple days and we are both glad we saved this dinner for tonight.

I was puttering around the kitchen getting everything else ready for dinner. I had picked up two thick slices of chocolate cake from the bakery that had made Dre's cake, the same cake Austin and I had shared that night at the Rev. I also had a couple gifts for him, wrapped up and waiting on the kitchen counter.

I had just turned on my spotify playlist when i heard him coming in the front door. Tossing his keys on the table and coming around the corner into the kitchen with a bottle of wine and a paper wrapped bouquet of flowers in his arms.

"Hey darlin.." he said as he sat the bottle down on the counter and handed me the flowers, dipping his head and kissing me hello. "You sure do look pretty tonight, my gorgeous girl."

"Thank you baby, these flowers are so beautiful, this is your birthday dinner silly, you shouldn't be bringing me things." I took them from him and laid them on the counter as I turned and looked for a vase in one of my cabinets. "You wore my favorite shirt. You remembered." I said grinning at him. He looked so damn sexy tonight, his shirt was a white button down with small clusters of flowers running down it in stripes. It was made of the softest cotton and it not only looked amazing him but it felt amazing too. It made the ink on his exposed chest and forearms look even sexier than normal, especially with those damn unbuttoned cuffs. He had on a pair of well worn light wash wrangers and his Bear belt buckle.

"Of course I did baby, and you remember how pretty I think you are in pink." He said, as he looked me over, making the heat rise in my cheeks.

I laughed because I knew it was true. When I was thumbing through my closet this afternoon I saw this dress i had forgotten about. It was simple, a light pink cotton sundress that i probably thrifted years ago. As soon as I saw it, I thought of Austin.

"Go get the grill heating up and come open your presents Bear. I'm excited." I said as I pecked him on the cheek as I sat the vase of flowers on my kitchen table. "Perfect centerpiece for a birthday dinner." I said grinning at him.

He stepped out on to the back porch and I grabbed he and I both a beer from the fridge while he fiddled with my grill. My dad had insisted on buying it for me when I bought this house, and up until this week it had never been used. Austin loves the damn thing. He's grilled nearly every night. He even brought over a very manly Carhartt apron to wear while he grills. He takes his meat very seriously.

He gave my ass a little pat when he came back in, payment for his beer, so he says, and started laughing when I slid his presents over to him as we sat at the kitchen bar.

"Is that... Kiwi?" He asked, taking the larger box of the two and sitting it in his lap, pointing to the wrapping paper.

"Yes. It is. I ordered it from a damn instagram ad when I was half drunk one night. I've never had the chance to use it. I thought your birthday was perfect." I giggled taking a drink of my beer.

He shook his head and started unwrapping the large box. "You didn't have to do all this Mouse, you just got me this buckle." He said looking up at me when he saw the Stetson logo on the box.
