Enter Scorn

It was a warm day as Hydie walked through Amber Beach. She could have worn lighter clothes, but liked what she had put on. Her black jacket was over her purple tank top. It went with the black distressed jeans and black boots she wore. She also had goggles around her neck, which were almost identical to her brother's. Hydie's goggles were black but had silver details on them. She didn't wear them on her eyes often, but almost always wore them as a necklace.

Hydie brushed some of her dark brown hair behind her ear. Her hair was almost at elbow length, but she kept it down most of the time to hide her neck tattoo. She didn't want to be bothered with questions about it so she would hide it. She pulled out sunglasses from her pocket and looked around.

Hydie was looking around, momentarily distracted when she got knocked over by someone she didn't see. She fell over, only scraping one of her hands.
"I'm sorry." She heard a voice say. Hydie looked to see it was a guy in a black tshirt and jeans. "I was trying something new on my board and lost control..." He held his hand out to Hydie, offering to help her out. "The name's Chase..." He added before Hydie took his hand.
"Hydie..." Hydie said after she stood up, not thinking it mattered if Chase knew her name. She didn't think she would be on earth long and didn't feel like using a fake name.
"So...Hydie, are you new in town?" Chase asked as he looked at her.
"Yeah, just here for a few days..."
"Well, if you decide you want a guide... " Chase started to say before they both heard screams. Hydie and Chase looked in the direction of the screams to see people running towards them. Hydie knew it would be the prisoner she set free from her ship, but didn't say anything. "Meet me outside the cafe in the museum around 6?" Chase asked Hydie, who looked towards him. Hydie thought for a moment, but saw the expression on Chase's face. It looked like he needed to go somewhere and was waiting on Hydie to answer.
"Sure." Hydie said, not sure if she would meet him later. Chase smiled at Hydie before he ran towards the screaming. She gave Chase some distance before she went in his direction.

Hydie hid behind a building and watched Chase from a distance. She wasn't following him to spy, but to see the prisoner create chaos.
'Wait...that's not the one from my ship...' Hydie thought to herself after seeing the monster. She was trying to pay attention to the monster when she noticed others joined Chase. Hydie's attention moved to them and watched them morph into Power Rangers. 'Power rangers...' She started to think when her compact in her other pocket started to beep.

Hydie moved behind the wall, pulled out her compact and opened it. If anyone would see Hydie, it would look like she was looking at her reflection.
"Those Power Rangers have energems.' Scorn said from the top half of the compact. "Which means..."
"Sledge is here." Hydie finished Scorn's sentence. Hydie and Scorn knew of Sledge and had been able to avoid him their whole existence. Scorn didn't do well in captivity and Hydie always made sure they stayed free of capture. "If Sledge is here...then Heckyl is on this planet." Hydie added more to herself than Scorn. She knew Heckyl had been captured by Sledge centuries ago but never tried to rescue him. Her need for freedom overruled the partnership she had with her brother. Hydie peeked another look at the fighting and saw the rangers were still fighting the monster. She watched the fighting for a moment before getting an idea. Hydie once again hid behind the wall and looked at Scorn. "Why don't we join them?" She suggested to Scorn about the fight. They didn't need each other's permission to be in charge of their shared body, but they opted to work together to ensure their survival.
"Sounds like fun.' Scorn said and Hydie's neck tattoo started to glow purple.

The rangers had almost defeated the monster when Scorn blasted them back. The rangers fell on the ground as Scorn stepped closer to the monster.
"What was that?" Chase asked as he and the other rangers before they stood up.
"Who is that?" Riley asked when he saw Scorn next to the monster.
"Tell your boss that Scorn is here now." Scorn said to the monster that was behind her. It would have been defeated by the rangers if Scorn hadn't stepped in. "And I'll take the energems for myself." She chose not to mention anything about knowing Heckyl and Snide were on Sledge's ship. The less the rangers heard, the better it was for her.

Scorn turned towards the rangers after the monster had retreated. The rangers looked at Scorn and each other.
"I'm not one of Sledge's weak bounties." Scorn said to the rangers. "The name's Scorn and I'm your worst nightmare." She chuckled.
"We can take you." Tyler said as he stepped forward.
"You say that now Red..." Scorn said to the red ranger "...but will you still be saying that when I defeat you and take your energems for myself?" The six rangers in front of her all stood in a fighting position and began to fight Scorn.

Scorn easily fought the rangers even though she was outnumbered. She could tell that the rangers were struggling to keep up with her.
"I'm not even breaking a sweat." Scorn said as she dodged an attack from Ivan. "Did you want me to take it easy on you?" She teased the rangers with a light chuckle.

After a few minutes, Scorn was getting bored of the fight and knocked all the rangers away from her.
"You six bore me." She said and disappeared before they could continue to fight.

Scorn returned to the ship before she transformed back into Hydie. Hydie pulled out the compact to talk to Scorn.
"Those rangers are no match for us." Scorn said to Hydie about the fight. Hydie smiled at what Scorn said. "Even though they have the numbers, we have the power."
"Good." Hydie said. "Let's keep it that way." She added about her and Scorn being more powerful than the rangers. "That guy we met...Chase..." Hydie started, thinking out loud to Scorn, "...he morphed into the black power ranger."
"What are you thinking?" Scorn asked.
"Oh, you'll find out." Hydie said with a smirk as she started to come up with a plan to get the energems.

The prisoner that Hydie gave freedom to, returned to the ship later in the day. She gave them a few rules to follow while Hydie left to go back to Amber Beach.

Hydie managed to find the museum that Chase mentioned. It was easy to find the cafe in the museum. She stood outside it as she looked inside. Hydie saw Chase and noticed the others inside with him. She recognized them from the fight earlier. 'The other rangers' Hydie thought to herself. 'This will be fun...' Her eyes went to one person in the back that wasn't at the fight earlier. 'It can't be...' Hydie thought to herself and was partly relieved when the person turned around. 'Heckyl...' She didn't say anything out loud, but as soon as Hydie thought his name, Heckyl looked up. He gave a smirk to Hydie before Chase came up to Hydie.
"You made it..." Chase said when he was at Hydie's side.
"Yeah..." Hydie said "...I was walking around earlier and thought maybe I could use a cute tour guide." Chase smiled at being called cute.
"If you give me a few more minutes while we finish up, I can give you that tour." Hydie nodded with a smile before Chase returned to helping his friends. Hydie looked at Chase for a moment before she looked back at her brother.

Hydie knew her and Heckyl had a lot of catching up to do.
