~ I wasn't going to post this chapter until after Thanksgiving (and after I had the next chapter done) but I also just wanted to share this chapter with everyone.
~ I have started the next chapter but as of sharing this, it's not done yet.
~ I have been re-watching Power Rangers episodes as I write for this story in hopes of getting inspiration (I finished Ninja Storm and currently on Dino Thunder. My next one to re-watch is Dino Fury/Cosmic Fury)

Hydie stood with a sword in her hands. She held it in front of her face as she looked at the opponent in front of her. They circled each other a few times before Hydie swung her sword. Her opponent dodged and swung at Hydie. Hydie quickly turned and hit their sword with her own. She let out a breath because she was lucky with blocking their sword from hitting her.
"Nice block." Her opponent said, which made Hydie smile.
"Thanks." She said before they swung their swords again.
The two of them managed to either dodge or block each other's swings. Hydie tried not to put too much of her energy into the sparring. She wanted to build up her energy and didn't want to transform into Scorn. There were voices talking around her, but she tuned them out as she focused on who was in front of her. As they sparred, a part of Hydie wanted to put all her effort into it, but knew it wasn't a good idea. She also didn't want to take it too easy on them. Hydie closed her eyes and took a deep breath to focus on her surroundings. Her eyes were still closed when she dodged a swing and moved behind her training partner before she hit them on the arm with her sword.
"Got you." She said and tried to hide a smile before she pointed her sword down.
"You're lucky they're fake swords." Her sparring partner said. "That could have hurt."
"I wouldn't hurt you Chase." Hydie said as she held her out for him. Chase smiled and shook her hand to silently end the sparring between the two of them. "Besides....that was me taking it easy on you." Hydie half joked with Chase as they went to where they had their water bottles.
Hydie sat on a log and took a gulp of water as Riley walked up to her and Chase.
"Where did you learn to use a sword like that?" Riley asked, a part of him impressed with how Hydie trained with a sword.
"Mostly self-taught." Hydie answered honestly. "Didn't really have anyone to train with before." She paused. "Thanks for letting me train with you guys. Didn't think you'd let a non-ranger join in your training." Hydie added, not telling them she was the Shadow Amethyst Ranger or that Scorn was her other half.
"We normally don't." Chase said to Hydie.
"But Chase kept asking us to let you join." Tyler told Hydie.
"Asked? More like begged." Shelby teased and looked at Chase. Hydie looked at Chase and saw the blush on his cheeks. She held his hand.
"If you asked or begged...thank you." Hydie said and kissed Chase's cheek. He turned and kissed her on the lips.
"Okay, okay, let's get back to training." Riley said. "Show me some of your moves?" He asked Hydie as she stood. She looked at him and nodded.
"Sure." She said but didn't plan on showing him all of her moves.

After Hydie was done training with the rangers, she went to her ship to take a shower. She promised Chase she would meet up with him later in the day and didn't want to smell like sweat.
Hydie looked at herself in the cracked mirror that was in her bathroom and felt like she needed a change. She looked around and found a pair of scissors and began to cut her hair.

Hydie decided to wear a purple tank top with black jeans and a black jacket. She wore her normal black combat boots. She had her newly cut hair brushed back as she looked in her mirror.
"You look horrible." Hydie turned to see Heckyl as he walked into her room.
"All I did was cut my hair a little." Hydie said before she turned back to her mirror. She started to put some makeup on. "What do you want Heckyl?"
"Fury said you were training with the rangers."
"Yeah, and?" Hydie looked at Heckyl's reflection that was now in her mirror.
"You are getting awfully close to them." Hydie rolled her eyes after she finished putting on some eyeshadow.
"Aww, jealous I'm spending more time with them than you?"
"I'm not jealous of the power rangers."
"Yeah, sure." Hydie said with sarcasm, which made Heckyl shake his head. "I would be jealous of them since they have more energems than you." Heckyl frowned. "Hey, the truth hurts." Hydie added before her brother could say anything else. Heckyl walked closer to his sister until he was right behind her.
"They have more than both of us."
"Yeah, but it doesn't make me jealous." Hydie looked at her brother's reflection again. "Maybe you should take a lesson from your big sis. Besides, jealousy doesn't fit you." Instead of saying anything, Heckyl rubbed his hand through his sister's hair and made it messy before he began to walk out. "Hey!" She turned to face him. While Heckyl's back was turned, Hydie made her hand glow purple and sent a small blast at his back. "Don't mess with my hair." Heckyl turned towards his sister, her blast not causing a bad injury.
"This is my favorite coat."
"Aww, too bad." Hydie said in a baby voice. "Is baby bro upset?" Heckyl shook his head and walked away because it was better for him not to make his sister more mad.
"You owe me a new jacket." Hydie could hear Heckyl shout as he walked down the hall of her ship.
"No I don't." Hydie shouted louder so Heckyl could hear her.
