~ I wasn't sure what I wanted to do with this chapter, but I did have the starting scene in my mind so I let the chapter evolve from there.
~ I hope you all like how this chapter turned out as much as I do (:

Hydie ran around the track, trying to keep her mind off of the nightmares she was having. They had been repeating themselves over the last week with some small differences. In some of her nightmares she was fighting against Heckyl and some of them against Chase. She found that if she kept active, it would distract her mind from the nightmares while she was awake. Hydie didn't tell anyone about the nightmares, except for Scorn.
Hydie didn't want to hurt her brother but she also didn't want to hurt Chase. There was a part of Hydie that had to be reminded that she was going to steal the ranger's energems...but she also didn't feel like she needed them. Hydie wanted to use the power of the energems to restore her home planet, but only having one wasn't enough power. There was a part of her that wondered if she asked the rangers for help, they could help her find a way to restore her planet. At the same time Hydie didn't think they would trust her if she was honest with them about everything.
The rangers didn't know Hydie was Heckyl's older sister or that she was also Scorn. They just found out Heckyl and Snide shared the same body. Hydie felt like they would treat her like they were now treating her brother if they found out the full truth. They also didn't know Hydie was Shar, the nickname given to her ranger form. Hydie and Scorn felt like it was better than always saying 'Shadow Amethyst Ranger' when referring to their ranger form.
Hydie stopped at a bench where she had a bag. She sat down and took out a purple water bottle and took a big gulp of water.
'What should I do?' Hydie asked herself. It had been a while since she was so conflicted. The only person she could talk to about everything was Scorn because Scorn knew about everything. Hydie ran a hand through her hair before she looked around.
Hydie was at the obstacle course where Riley had been training for the marathon that happened what seemed like forever ago. It seemed like a good place to Hydie where she could go to where she could be away from everything without leaving the planet again. Her free hand went to the locket she was wearing, which still held her purple energem. She could feel a pulse from it on occasion, almost as if it was trying to fight the darkness that was inside of her.
Hydie herself didn't fight the darkness that was inside of her because that meant fighting Scorn. The two of them came to an agreement a long time ago that they would rather work together than fight each other. There was times where Hydie fought the waves of goodness that came from her energem. It was mainly when she was around her brother. She didn't want Heckyl to find out she no longer wanted to rule the world, but to revive their home planet. Heckyl didn't have the same memories as Hydie. It made them on different sides, but Hydie didn't want her brother to realize that. She had left him in Sledge's solitary confinement for centuries and she felt bad for abandoning her brother. 'One day, you will remember' Hydie thought to herself about her brother.

Hydie searched everywhere for her brother.
"Heckyl, where are you?" She asked out loud before she turned a corner. Hydie bumped into someone and let out a sigh of relief when she saw her brother. "Oh good, you're safe." She pulled Heckyl into a tight hug before he could say anything. "I was so worried."
"I'm okay." Heckyl said as they heard a blast from outside. "I found what they're here for." He showed Hydie the box he was holding. Heckyl didn't open it, but they both knew what was inside. "I have to protect this...keep it out of their evil hands." Heckyl started to leave but was stopped by Hydie.
"You are not going anywhere." Hydie said as she looked into her brother's eyes.
"I need..." Hydie put her hand up to stop her brother.
"You're not going anywhere alone." They looked at each other. "I'm your big sister Heckyl and I'm not going to abandon you." Heckyl smiled and held his sister's hand with his free one. "I will always be by your side..." There was another blast "...with whatever time we have left." She added. Heckyl smiled at his sister and nodded.
"Then let's get this somewhere before our planet is destroyed." Hydie nodded as she silently agreed with her brother. They both ran away together, not knowing how much time they had left.
