Double Trouble- Re-written.

A Secret Revealed

~ Like the title of the chapter says, there  is a Secret Revealed...but a lot of big secrets will remain.. well a secret (:

~ This is another original chapter but I really like how the end scenes of the chapter turned out.

Hydie sat at the table in the ranger's base as she waited for them to return. She had the picnic basked on the middle of the table as she ate some of the food from it. The fight with the Vivix and Fury made her more hungry. She also had her leg propped up on the seat next to her because it was sore, but it was also a comfortable position for her. There was a part of her that also felt weird to be in the base, even though it was the first time she's been in it since it was shown to her.

Hydie took a bite of one of the sandwiches and turned her head when the doors to the base opened up. She smiled a bit when she saw Chase and the others come in and looked proud that they beat the latest monster. Hydie watched their energems go to their crystal beds and remembered she was going to talk to them about her powers. 'Maybe it was a mistake to use them.' She thought to herself. Her need to get Fury back for the bruise his slap distracted her thoughts during the fight.

Hydie looked at Chase when he sat on the chair next to her that she didn't have her leg on.
"You guys okay?" Hydie asked Chase, but meant it for everyone. Chase nodded and took a piece of fruit that was on the table from the picnic he had with Hydie.
"We can handle any monster that's thrown our way." Tyler said and stood near the table. Riley and Shelby sat on the opposite side of the table. Ivan stood near the table with Koda.

Hydie could feel all their eyes on her as she finished eating the sandwich she had.
"So, since when could you do that glowing thing with your hands?" Chase asked Hydie as she moved her leg off the seat it was resting on. Hydie looked at her hand and then to the others around her. She took a deep breath and calmed herself.
"First I need to tell you about my home planet..." Hydie started.
"Wait, you're an alien?" Shelby asked as she interrupted Hydie. Hydie nodded.
"Have you heard of the planet Sentai 6?" Hydie slowly asked the rangers. They all looked at each other before they looked back at Hydie. "I grew up on Sentai 6 along with my brother, but eventually there was a battle that caused the planet to be destroyed." She paused. "Something happened before the destruction that stopped my aging and gave me these powers..." Hydie held her hand up and made it temporarily glow purple. "...and separated me from my brother." She added. Hydie didn't want to tell them that her brother was Heckyl and that she had Scorn as another side of herself. 'Can't tell them about the purple energem either' She thought to herself.
"You survived the destruction of Sentai 6?" Keeper said after he appeared at the end of the table. Hydie and the others all looked at Keeper. Hydie nodded her head.
"I didn't remember for a long time about my planet..." Hydie honestly said to Keeper "...but something happened and all the memories came flooding back." She paused. "Then I promised myself I would do whatever I could to try and restore my planet in some way." Hydie looked down, a part of her unsure about revealing so much truth about herself. 'You still have to keep secrets from them' Hydie thought about herself and the rangers. 'If they find out you're also Scorn...' "I've used a lot of my life to learn how to fight and defend myself if I ever got into trouble like when my planet was destroyed." She added because Riley had complemented her skills with a sword earlier that morning.
"Wait, how long ago was your planet destroyed?" Tyler asked. Hydie took a deep breath.
"About 65...million years ago." Hydie revealed, which made all the rangers shocked.
"You don't look a day over 64 million." Chase said as he tried to joke to lighten the mood.
"Why didn't you mention any of this before?" Shelby asked Hydie.
"I...never had anyone that I could share my life with that would believe me." Hydie said. "So it just became a habit to keep it a secret from everyone." She paused. "And honestly? I didn't want to bring up my past because I was...I am happy."
"Talking about the past can often help heal the scars it may have left behind." Keeper said to Hydie.
"If anyone would believe your story, it's us, my lady." Ivan said to Hydie. Hydie looked at Ivan, then slowly looked at everyone in the room. They gave Hydie a nod as she looked at each of them. Hydie felt herself smile at everyone and even though there were still secrets she was keeping from them, she felt closer to them. She looked at Chase when she felt his hand hold hers.
"You don't have to keep your past a secret from us." Chase said as he looked at Hydie. Hydie could tell by his eyes he didn't want her to hide her life from him.
"I know that now." Hydie said as she held Chase's hand back.
"So Chase..." Chase and Hydie looked at Riley "...how does it feel like to be dating someone older than you?" Chase looked from Riley to Hydie and the other rangers held back chuckles.
