Chapter 5 - Shattered Reflections

"I'm heading out!"

Sana left excitedly to go to school for the first time in ages.

Mii waved her goodbye as she crouched down next to Boo's dog house in the front yard.

Dahyun opened the windows to let some air into the house.

"I'm glad to see that Sana's cheered up since she started going to school"

Dahyun turned around to find Chaeyoung with her face buried in the pillow on the floor.

"How long are you going to lie there?", she stepped on the back of her head.

"Ah! Alright! I'll get up!"

"Oh, I have to lock the back door. At least help me lock up before we leave, okay?!"

Chaeyoung sat up and rubbed her head.

"But, she approved of it very quickly, didn't she?"

"Hm? What are you talking about?", Dahyun frowned in confusion.

"I'm talking about Sana's Mother. I thought she'd put up more of a fight. She willingly allowed us strangers to take Sana in without question. I wonder if normal people do that..."

"It seemed like she didn't report it to the police either"

"I wonder what the deal is?"

"You're the one who decided that we wouldn't question"

"I guess you're right...", Chaeyoung sighed.

"Don't add anymore to this house, alright?", Dahyun crossed her arms.

"I'm not doing it because I want to!"

"Come on, we have to go to school ourselves. Hurry up and get ready!"

Chaeyoung flopped back down on her pillow and pretended to snore away.

"I said get up!"

Dahyun stepped on her head again, suffocating her in the pillow.

Dahyun and Chaeyoung arrived at their university. 

Something that they weren't exactly planning to do was bringing Mii along with them.

"Listen Mii. The ribbon on your head, don't ever untie it, okay?", said Chaeyoung.

"Mii!"

"It's not 'Mii' remember?"

"Okay!"

Chaeyoung smiled widely with her face slightly going pink.

Now that she thought about it, Mii was pretty cute.  

Dahyun side-eyed her before clearing her throat. 

"She's starting to learn some words, isn't she?"

"All she knows is 'Yes' and 'Okay". I thought that she'd at least be calling our names by now"

"I'm sure she will soon", Dahyun shrugged.

The three of them sat down at a table to rest.

"Hey, Chae? Have you decided what club you're going to join?", asked Dahyun.

"The 'I'm going home' club probably...", Chaeyoung joked.

"Oh, don't you have any interests?"

"Well, I like roaming around zoos"

"What??"

"Yeah! I like to see 'changed' animals. That's why I'm a Biology major"

"What does that even mean...?"
