Amelia was standing in the kitchen at her house, when her dad walks through the door frame. She hasn't been home very much, and she's kind of been avoiding her dad since she started seeing more of Kook.

Amelia's dad: Where have you been? You haven't been home much lately.

Amelia: I've been working later than usual, and just hanging out with some work friends.

Amelia's dad: You'd tell me if something was going on right?

Amelia: Of course dad, but nothing is going on, I promise. I'm just busy with work.

Amelia's dad: You know that Olivia and Kook broke up right?

Amelia: Yeah, I heard about that.

Amelia's dad: You haven't been seeing him have you?

Amelia: No dad, I haven't been. I'm just focusing on work right now.

Amelia's dad: I'd really hope not. He's pretty cutthroat in his world.

Amelia paused, listening to the words that her father just spoke. It frightened her, but also excited her in a way that she didn't completely understand. She had seen Kook in a different light, a darker side that she hadn't expected. Despite his reputation, she couldn't help but feel drawn to him. As for Dohwan, well, she loved him too, but in a different way. He was softer to her, her best friend, and the one person she could always count on.

Amelia: I know, but I promise I'm not involved with anything like that. I'm just trying to make it on my own.

She felt guilty as the words left her mouth. She hated lying to people. She also didn't want her dad to worry about her. She didn't want to take a chance on her dad doing something, and pissing Kook off, then Kook retaliating on her dad.

Amelia's dad: Alright, sweetie.

The next day at work Amelia was sitting in the break room eating her lunch when Dohwan walked in. She felt like she hadn't seen him all day. He seemed spacey.

Amelia: Are you okay? I felt like I haven't seen you much today.

He turned to look at Amelia.

Dohwan: Huh?

Amelia: Are you okay?

Dohwan: Yeah I'm fine.

Amelia: Where have you been all day?

Dohwan: I've just been super focused on the Johnson case.

Amelia: Oh.

Amelia sensed he was lying. He's never usually this into any of the cases he's worked on. Dohwan sat down next to Amelia at the lunch room table.

Dohwan: How's everything going?

Amelia: It's going good, and with you?

Dohwan: It's going alright.

He had a look of frustration across his face, but Amelia didn't want to push the issue. She knew it would be better for the both of them, to not take it to that place. She knew that if she found out there was trouble in paradise for Dohwan and his girlfriend that it would make her think about him more, and that's something she doesn't want to do. She wanted to make things less awkward so she came up with an idea.
