Amelia's heart raced as she felt Kook's warm breath against her neck, his words sending a chill down her spine. She knew Kook was capable of extreme measures to protect what he considered his own. She could see the storm brewing in his eyes, the promise of retribution if she didn't choose him. Amelia tried to push the thought away, but it lingered like a bad taste in her mouth. She knew that Kook's world was one of power and control, and she didn't want Dohwan to get caught in the crossfire.

Amelia felt the coldness of Kook's grip on her shoulders, his eyes burning into hers like a brand. His voice was a low, dangerous murmur that seemed to fill the room, echoing in her very bones. "You're mine," he said again, his thumb tracing the line of her jaw. "And if Dohwan thinks he can come between us, well I'll make him regret it." The words were a dark promise that sent a chill down her spine. She knew Kook wasn't the kind of man to make empty threats, and the thought of Dohwan being hurt because of her was unbearable.

He took a deep breath, the muscles in his jaw working as he tried to calm himself. "if you choose him, Amelia, if you choose him over me," he paused, his gaze piercing her soul, "you won't like what happens next." His words hung in the air, a chilling ultimatum that seemed to suck the oxygen from the room. She looked at him, her heart in her throat, knowing that she was standing on the precipice of a decision that could change everything.

Kook's expression softened slightly, a rare glimpse of the man beneath the mafia boss's veneer. "Dohwan is a good man, Amelia. He's loyal, honest, and kind, but...." His voice was filled with a begrudging respect until he paused, and he  was going to say something else but didn't. He took a step towards her, his hand reaching out to cup her cheek, his thumb brushing against her skin.  Amelia felt Kook's hand in her hair, his touch both comforting and demanding.

She knew he was speaking the truth about Dohwan's character, and it made her heart ache even more. "I know Dohwan is a good man," she said, her voice barely above a whisper. "He's kind, and caring, and he's been there for me when I needed someone." She took a deep, trembling breath. "But so have you." She turned her face into Kook's palm, her eyes searching his. "I don't want to lose either of you," she admitted, her voice thick with unshed tears. "But I can't keep living like this, torn between two people I care about so much." She felt his hand tighten in her hair, a silent demand for her to choose.

Kook's eyes searched hers, the love and possessiveness in them unmistakable. He leaned in, his forehead resting against hers. "Dohwan is like a brother to me," he said, his voice filled with both warmth and a hint of sadness. "But you, Amelia, you're more than that. You're the reason I wake up in the morning." His hand slid from her hair to her neck, his thumb stroking the sensitive skin. "But if he tries to take you from me," he warned, his voice a low, dangerous rumble, "I won't hesitate to do what's necessary." He stepped back, his gaze never leaving hers. "I won't lose you," he said, the finality in his tone leaving no room for argument.

Amelia: Let's just drop it. I'm sorry.

Kook's expression hardened as Amelia's words hung in the air, the unspoken plea in her eyes doing nothing to deter his resolve. He knew he was pushing her, but he couldn't bear the thought of losing her. "Amelia," he said, his voice a low, intense whisper. "You don't understand. This isn't just about me being possessive. It's about protecting what's mine." His thumb brushed over her bottom lip, and she felt his breath against her mouth. "But if you truly want me to drop it," he paused, his gaze dropping to her lips, "then I need you to promise me that you won't see him again."

Amelia: Kook, my job.. I can't just not work.

Kook: You can find something else, or come work for me. The other option is just let me take care of you.

Amelia: You mean you want me to solely rely on you. I can't do that.

Kook: I'm not trying to control you Amelia..

Kook's voice was low and gruff, his eyes searching hers. His hand slid down her neck to her shoulder, his thumb tracing the delicate skin of her collarbone. "I just want to take care of you." he whispered, his breath warm against her skin. "I know I can be... intense," he admitted, his grip tightening slightly. "But it's only because I love you so much." She knew that Kook was a complex man, a maelstrom of love and danger, passion and power. "I don't want you to fight over me," she said softly, her voice barely audible over the pounding of her heart. "But I can't just leave my job. It's all I have."

Kook's gaze softened, his hand still gripping her shoulder. He knew her independence was something she cherished, and he didn't want to be the one to take that away from her. He took a deep breath, his chest expanding and contracting with the effort to calm his racing thoughts. "Fine," he said, his voice a low rumble. "But I want you to be careful around him. Don't give him any reason to think you're still interested." His eyes narrowed, the protective instincts that had served him so well in his mafia career coming to the fore. "If he crosses the line again, I won't be as forgiving." He stepped back, his hand dropping to his side. "I'll find another way to deal with this," he murmured, his thoughts racing ahead to potential strategies, his mind already calculating the risks and consequences of his actions.

Inside, Kook was a raging tempest, trying to rein in his emotions. The thought of Dohwan, his best friend, betraying him in such a way was almost too much to bear. But he knew that if he acted on his anger, it would only push Amelia further away. He took another deep breath, his hand clenching into a fist at his side. "I need some space," he said, his voice tight. "To think." He turned and walked away, his footsteps echoing in the quiet penthouse.
