Amelia watched Kook pacing on the balcony, the muscles in his back tight with tension. She knew the depth of his friendship with Dohwan, had seen the two of them share laughs and stories that didn't involve the dark underbelly of the world that the three of them have now created. Dohwan was more than just the man who had defended the mafia's interests; he was Kook's confidant, a bridge to a time when love and loyalty were simpler concepts.

The revelation of their shared history, of Dohwan being his mafia lawyer, painted a new picture of the quiet, introspective man she had come to know. It explained his protectiveness, his need for secrecy. But it also added a layer of complexity to the situation that she hadn't anticipated. Dohwan wasn't just a rival; he was part of the very fabric of Kook's life, a thread that couldn't easily be severed without unraveling the entire tapestry.

Amelia's thoughts swirled as she observed Kook's troubled figure. The love she felt for him was as fierce as it was new, a burning ember in the vast sea of her soul. Yet, she couldn't shake the tendrils of doubt that had wrapped themselves around her heart. Dohwan's gentle touch, his understanding eyes, the way he had looked at her when she was lost in thought—it all resonated within her, a gentle reminder of the connection they had shared. But it was Kook who had claimed her, whose very presence made her pulse race. She was torn between her growing love for Kook and her concern for Dohwan, whose fate was now entwined with hers in a dance of danger and desire.

With a heavy heart, Amelia retreated into the en suite bathroom, seeking solace in the embrace of steam and scented water. She turned the faucet, the sound of rushing water a soothing melody in the otherwise taut silence. As the tub began to fill with water that promised to warm her chilled skin, she sat on the plush edge, her mind racing.

The warmth of the water washed over her, but it did little to alleviate the chill that had settled into her bones. Amelia leaned her head against the cool marble, her thoughts drifting to her father. He had always been her rock, her confidant, the one person who truly understood her. But he was gone now, leaving her adrift in a world that was as unpredictable as the stormy sea. Her mother, a very distant memory, had never been one to offer guidance, her love a fleeting whisper that had been snatched away by the cruel hands of fate.

Amelia felt the weight of her solitude crushing down on her, a stark reminder that she was navigating these treacherous waters alone. How she wished she could turn to her father for wisdom, to have his comforting presence guide her through this storm of emotions and danger. Amelia's eyes closed as the warmth of the water enveloped her, the memory of her father's hospital room flooding back.

His voice, weak but insistent, whispered through the fog of her mind. "Amelia," he had said, his grip on her hand surprisingly firm, "You and Dohwan... you're perfect for each other." The words had come out of nowhere, a revelation that had taken her breath away. She had looked into his eyes, searching for the truth, for a reason behind the sudden confession. But all she had found was a knowing smile, the kind that spoke of secrets and silent understandings between men.

As the water grew warm around her, Amelia's thoughts swirled like the steam that curled around the lights above the tub. She knew that she had to choose, but the idea of losing either Kook or Dohwan felt like a betrayal to a part of herself. She had never been one to follow the beaten path, and here she was, standing at the crossroads of love and loyalty.

The sound of the water echoed in her ears, a metaphor for the emotional journey her heart was on. She sighed heavily, the gravity of her decision pressing down upon her. Her hand reached for the loofah, scrubbing her skin as if she could scrub away the guilt that clung to her. She knew that she had to find a way to navigate this situation without losing herself in the process, but the fog of uncertainty made it difficult to see the path ahead.
