Kook's presence fills the room as he walks over to Amelia's desk. His gaze is intense, and it's clear that he's focused solely on her. She can feel the weight of his stare, but also the warmth of his affection. She tries to maintain a neutral expression, not wanting to give anything away. As he leans in closer, she catches a whiff of his cologne, which only serves to heighten the sensation of being close to him.

Amelia: Well, um... I guess I could take a quick break, Kook. Dohwan won't mind, will he?

She says nervously, glancing over at Dohwan.

Dohwan: Oh, that's all right. I can manage without her for a bit. Just make sure you're back in time for our next meeting, Amelia. She's an important part of this team, after all.

Kook nods in understanding before turning back to Amelia. Amelia stands up, gathering her things as she follows Kook out of the office. She can feel Dohwan's eyes on her back, but tries to ignore it as she focuses on Kook. The air outside the office is cooler, and she shivers slightly in her thin office jacket. Kook notices this and wraps an arm around her shoulder, pulling her closer.

Kook: So have you thought more on what you plan to do? Are you going to stay or quit?

Amelia bites her lip, considering her response. She's been debating this for weeks now. She feels weird about leaving Dohwan behind, even though she knows it would be a good idea. She wants Kook, and she feels like as long as she's around Dohwan, shes going to stay confused. She takes a deep breath, not wanting to make a decision right now.

Amelia: I don't know.. I'm still thinking about it.

Kook: I understand. It's a tough decision.

There was a pause.

Kook: You know, I'd feel a lot better if you'd just come work for me. I could take care of you, Amelia.

Amelia: I appreciate the offer, Kook, but I... I don't know if that would be right.

Kook: Right? You're worried about him, aren't you?

Amelia: Yes... I mean, I don't want to leave him in the lurch. He's been good to me too.

Amelia looked over at Kook, and she could see the frustration written all over his face.

Kook: I get it. I just think maybe it's a good thing that you do work somewhere else...

Amelia: It's just...I don't know. I feel like I'm in this weird in-between place right now.

Kook began to realize that Amelia and Dohwan had a deeper connection than he had previously believed. His intuition was correct from the start, and he knew it. He felt anger building up inside him. He didn't want to show it, though. He took a deep breath and exhaled slowly, trying to calm himself down. He couldn't let his emotions get the better of him. Instead, he focused on making a convincing argument to Amelia.

Kook: You know, Amelia, I think it's important for you to consider your own needs and desires.

Kook's voice was calm, but there was an edge to it that Amelia couldn't help but notice.

Kook: I know Dohwan was good to you, but...

Amelia: What?

Kook: I think you have feelings for him.

Amelia: I... Well, I mean, we're friends. So obviously I care about him.

Kook: But it's more than that, isn't it? You can't seem to make up your mind about staying or leaving.

Amelia: You make it sound like it's so easy for you to decide what I should do.

Kook: I'm just trying to help you see things clearly.

Kook's words stung Amelia, but she couldn't deny that there was some truth to what he was saying. She did feel conflicted about her feelings for Dohwan and her desire for Kook.

Kook: Amelia... Don't make a decision you will regret.

Amelia felt a weight pressing down on her chest. She didn't want to make the wrong decision, but she didn't know what to do. She looked at Kook, wishing he could understand how torn she was. Amelia went back to work. She tried to focus on her work, but her mind kept wandering back to Kook and Dohwan. She couldn't shake the feeling that she was about to make a terrible mistake. Finally, she decided that she needed some fresh air. Amelia stepped outside, taking in deep breaths of the cool air. The sounds of the city drifted around her. She leaned against the brick wall, feeling overwhelmed by her emotions.

Back inside, Kook and Dohwan were deep in conversation, oblivious to Amelia's turmoil. She watched them intently, trying to glean any clues as to what she should do. Kook seemed to be doing most of the talking, his gestures animated and passionate. Dohwan listened intently, his expression thoughtful. Kook left shortly after, and Amelia sat at her desk trying to wrap up some of her work. She was quiet the rest of the day, and Dohwan took notice.

Dohwan: Are you okay? You've been quiet since you came back.

Amelia: I... Yeah, I'm just... thinking.

Dohwan glanced over at her, concern written on his face. She quickly looked away, feeling self-conscious.

Dohwan: About the thing we talked about at dinner?

Amelia: Yeah...

She hesitated, not sure if she should continue the conversation. Dohwan put his hand on her upper arm while looking into her eyes.

Dohwan: I..

Amelia looked up at Dohwan, ready to listen to what he was going to say next.

I'm sorry that this chapter is so short. I'm having writers block pretty bad right now. I'm working on getting my motivation back, and I plan to write multiple chapters in advance when I do.  Thank you guys so much for reading, and continuously reading my stories :).
