You're not really sure what an uncle is, but for some reason, Aizawa looks rather annoyed all of a sudden.
"Don't say stupid things," Aizawa scowls. "She's been through enough without you confusing her. Some creep tried to kidnap her earlier, and I'm not sure what happened to her family either. The police is looking into it, so in the meantime, I thought I'd let her stay here."
Present Mic's shoulders slump, and he looks partly relieved, but also somewhat disappointed.
"Oh," he blinks. "Right. I guess that makes more sense. So, not your kid, then."
"I figured that went without saying."
"Well, leaving aside the details, the point is that she's probably had a pretty rough day, huh?" Present Mic walks over to you and drops to a crouch. You quickly realize that he's a lot more expressive than Aizawa, if the wide grin on his lips is anything to go off. "Hey, little girl," he beams. "I'm Present Mic. Or Hizashi. Or just Mic."
You furrow your brows. "Mister, it sounds like you've got a lot of names."
"Haha! I guess so," he muses. "Well, maybe calling me Mic is the easiest. It's technically my hero name, but you can consider it a nickname too."
"Hero name?"
"Like Eraserhead. That's Aizawa's hero name. It's a codename that's easy for people to remember. That way, when people spot us on the streets, they know right away who we are! It gives people a clear image of what kind of heroes we're striving to be."
"I'm just [Name]," you frown, and all of a sudden, it doesn't quite feel like enough. "What do I have to do to get more names like you guys?"
Aizawa sighs. "See? This is exactly what I was afraid of. You're overwhelming her, Mic. Take it easy and give her some space."
"Sorry, sorry." Present Mic chuckles sheepishly and steps away. "I guess you must have had a long day. But didn't you say that you were hungry?"
You nod. "Mhm. I had two burgers earlier, and they were really good. I think I'm ready for my third."
"I'm not sure if I have all the ingredients to whip up a burger right now," Aizawa mumbles.
"What are you saying, you turd?!" Present Mic swats him on the arm. "We can just order in! Don't deprive this sweet little girl of the burger she's craving!"
"Yeah," you echo, pleased that he's taking your side. "Don't deprive me of my burger, please."
Aizawa presses his lips together. As expected, whenever this idiot gets involved, things always become a million times more troublesome.
"I'll make a call and order another burger," he concedes. He pauses to frown. "But I hope it won't upset your stomach. You've already eaten quite a lot."
"I'm hungry again, so that must mean I've still got room," you reason.
Aizawa can't exactly argue with that. He just hopes you won't end up barfing onto his furniture. That would be less than ideal.
"Eraser's kind of lame, isn't he?" Aizawa can hear Present Mic whispering. "He's always so uptight. Good thing I stopped by, huh?"
"Aizawa isn't lame," you counter. "He's really nice. I trust him."
Well, that's... actually pretty cute, he has to admit. It's obvious that you're a good kid, which makes it all the more upsetting that you've had to suffer so much.
"I ordered the burger," Aizawa says, and he watches as your feet start tapping against the floor eagerly. You're incapable of suppressing your excitement, kind of like a little puppy.
