You figured as much, but All Might's training regimen is rough.

Izuku isn't just required to drag heavy trash around and clean up a landfill, but he also has a strict set of exercises to adhere to. When he's not in class, or finishing up assignments, he spends pretty much every waking moment honing his body and pushing it past its limits. You don't see him very much outside of school anymore, apart from when you walk home together, but you know this is an important time for him. He needs to work harder than ever up until the U.A entrance exam, and then finally, he'll have a Quirk to call his own.

Instead of dwelling on the fact that you don't get to hang out with him as much as you used to, you've decided to channel your time and efforts into training as well, and you really are lucky to have not one, but two pro heroes to learn from.

Present Mic is the nice, supportive kind of mentor, whereas Aizawa is the resident hard-ass who always nitpicks.

But he's your dad, so naturally, you still love him.

"I feel like I did pretty good today," you pant, plopping down on the grass. "I actually got close to hitting you, didn't I?"

"In your dreams," he waves off.

"Would it kill you to sugarcoat things every now and then?"

"Probably. But you're making good progress," Aizawa acknowledges. "You still have time until the exam, still, that doesn't mean you can afford to start slacking off. Since you can't rely on that power that occasionally gives you a burst of strength, your best shot is to hone your close-combat skills to perfection. There are all kinds of heroes out there-some specialize in long-range attacks, whereas others work as support-types or healers, but that doesn't apply in your case. No matter what the exam is like, this is a good skill to have in your arsenal, and it'll come in handy when you go up against villains too."

"You and Uncle Mic already know what the exam is going to be like, right? Because you both graduated from U.A, and now you're even teaching there."

"Of course," he nods.

"But you won't tell me."

"That goes without saying. It would be highly unethical, and if they found out you had an unfair advantage, I could lose my job. Besides, I don't want you to get in by cheating. It would mean you didn't actually earn it."

"I don't want you to tell me either," you reassure. "I believe in myself, and I want to stand on the same playing field as everyone else. But based on what you know, do you think I have a decent shot at passing the practical exam?"

Aizawa rolls his eyes. "Quit it. You won't get anything out of me. And it doesn't matter what I think, because ultimately, it's your efforts that will dictate whether or not you make the cut. The most I can do is help you train."

You pinch your lips together, studying his expression. As expected, he's stoic to a fault, which makes it impossible to know what he's thinking. You doubt you'll ever be able to tell whether he feels confident about your prospects of passing, or whether he's secretly freaking out that you won't be ready in time.

But one thing is certain-he loves you, and he's sure as hell never going to give up on you.

That simple thought alone gives you confidence in spades.

"Okie-dokie," you grin, springing up on your feet with a newfound vigor. "I'm ready to go again! This time, I'll really show you what for. You might even squeal like a little girl."

Aizawa shakes his head, but fails to hide the smile spreading across his lips.

"Fine. Let's see what you've got."
