Even though your partner doesn't seem too keen on getting to know you, it's fine. You're much more preoccupied with other things right now.
Namely, Izuku and Katsuki's battle.
Things are different now. Izuku isn't the same Quirkless, presumably 'helpless' boy he used to be. All Might-the strongest hero in the world-recognized his true worth, and even though he's still new to his powers, you know there's a near-infinite well of strength he has yet to tap into.
But there are two problems. One, every time Izuku uses his Quirk, it results in devastating damage to his body, and unlike you, he can't just go about his day without worrying about the consequences. When Izuku's limbs break, the change definitely isn't reversible, which means it can actually be rather dangerous. This naturally limits how often he can use his powers, because in most cases, each instance is crippling.
And two, it isn't the sort of power Izuku should be using against people. Even Katsuki, as powerful as he is, likely won't be able to take one of Izuku's punches head-on. It could quite literally kill him. Izuku knows this, of course, and he's not reckless enough to risk hurting others. Not when he's aspiring to be a hero who can save everyone with a smile.
It hurts to admit, but you know that Izuku is at a disadvantage, well before the fight even begins. That's not to say you don't believe in him. You've always believed in him. But for obvious reasons... it's going to be difficult. You expect that he'll probably have a pretty rough start.
So, when Izuku manages to anticipate one of Katsuki's attacks and instead turn the tables on him-by throwing him over his shoulder and onto the ground-it's safe to say that your jaw drops open.
"Holy burgers!" you exclaim, shaking your fists excitedly. "Go, Izuku, go! Wow! Did you guys see that? Did you see what he just did?!"
Since everyone here has eyes, yes, they did see. A few of your classmates chuckle politely, and some are even nice enough to chime in and praise Izuku for his quick reflexes, but your partner (whose name you still don't even know), proceeds to just flash you another icy look.
You're starting to get the feeling that he might not like you very much.
Well, whatever. You're way too happy right now to even care. Izuku just outmaneuvered Katsuki in a fight, for the first time in his entire life, so you'll celebrate as much as you damn please.
Needless to say, Katsuki isn't happy about it-what a shock! You can see him getting all red in the face as he screams, but you can't hear the words being exchanged since the audio is being transmitted directly into All Might's earpiece. Still, you have a pretty good idea of what's going on, and the bottom line is that Katsuki can't stand to lose.
Katsuki sets off another explosion and targets Izuku a second time, but once again, Izuku manages to read him perfectly and evade, using the capture tape to his advantage. The fight is very clearly driven by Katsuki's personal vendetta, because he's not even trying to go after Uraraka. It's just the kind of childish, narrow-minded behavior you would expect from him.
Izuku seems to realize that Katsuki will stubbornly pursue him, so he says something to Uraraka, and she nods quickly before running away. After a moment's delay, Izuku does the same. It looks like he's trying to keep Katsuki on his tail while giving Uraraka an opportunity to secure the weapon.
It's a good plan. The best possible plan in this scenario, at least.
Unfortunately, things don't always go the way you expect them to.
You barely even have time to process what's happening. One moment, Katsuki is facing Izuku, having caught up to him. Once again, words are exchanged, but you don't know with certainty what is being said.
