When you awaken, Aizawa and Present Mic are still there, just like they promised.
They must have stayed by your side all night, even though the bed is rather cramped for the three of you. Still, it brings you a great deal of relief to know that they aren't going to abandon you. They're here to watch over you, so surely, Dr. Garaki won't be able to take you prisoner again.
You really, really hope that's the case.
"Good morning," Aizawa smiles. He gently pats your head. "How are you feeling? A bit better?"
He's clearly referring to the nightmare that you had, and you a feel guilty for worrying him. Hopefully he didn't lose too much sleep because of you.
"I'm okay," you affirm. "It was just a bad dream, and I'm awake now, so everything's going to be fine."
"That's right. Nightmares are scary, but they aren't real, so they can't hurt you." He pats your head one last time, then rolls over and jabs Present Mic in the ribs. "Mic. Wake up. Hurry up and get your lazy butt out of bed."
"Wha-huh?!"
Present Mic comes to with a gasp. His hair is all over the place, and there's a gritty patch on his chin from where he drooled in his sleep.
The expression he's making right now is also rather funny, so you can't help but laugh.
"Oh," Present Mic sighs. He reaches out to you and pats your head, just like Aizawa did a few moments ago. "She's laughing. That's good. Sleep well, kiddo? I hope your day's off to a great start so far."
"Your hair looks silly," you muse.
"Well, hair like mine requires constant maintenance, you know? I don't just wake up with it perfectly styled. It'd be nice if that was how it worked, though."
"Whether you style it or not, it always looks dumb to me," Aizawa shrugs.
"Hey! What the hell, man? Don't undermine me in front of [Name]! That's so uncool!"
Present Mic swats his friend on the arm, and while Aizawa rolls his eyes and recoils, you're perfectly content to watch the scene unfold with a smile on your lips.
Yep. You've made up your mind. You want to be with these two forever.
"I'll go get breakfast started," Present Mic declares. He steps out of bed, then hoists you up into his arms, much to your bewilderment-and glee. "Do you like pancakes?" he grins. "I make some mean pancakes."
You shake your head. "I've never had pancakes before. And why would they be mean?"
"Haha! It's just an expression, kiddo. Come on, I'll show you. They'll turn out super tasty, don't worry."
Present Mic carries you to the kitchen, and meanwhile, Aizawa reaches for his phone. As expected, he's got several missed calls, all from the police officer he exchanged contact information with the other day.
He dials the number back, then waits for the line to click.
"Ah, Aizawa," the policeman picks up. "Good morning. How did everything go with [Name] last night?"
"It was good, for the most part. She had a bad dream," Aizawa says, frowning a bit. "It seems like she must still be pretty shaken up, not that I can blame her. But more importantly, I saw that you called, so did you find any leads?"
"About that..." He hesitates for a few moments, then lets out a sigh. "Unfortunately, no. It doesn't sound like anyone's reported her missing thus far, and we contacted some of the other stations too. There haven't been any reports of a missing girl with her appearance, and without a family name, we can't track down any relatives either. We've tried asking around, but it doesn't sound like anyone recognizes who she is."
