Caelus' Pov

"Mr. Strait, how have you been?"

"Oh, cut it out," I retorted, though I could hear her playful laughter on the other end of the line.

"Someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed," she teased, prompting a weary sigh from me.

"I'm sorry, but this really isn't a good time," I apologized, feeling the weight of my troubles pressing down on me.

"Not a good time? Don't tell me you're too busy again to talk to me," she countered.

"No, it's not that. It's just... a complete mess," I explained, unable to delve into the details at the moment. "I'll fill you in when I'm feeling better."

"Alright, I won't pester you anymore. But let's meet tonight. Same place, same time. You can tell me everything then," she suggested.

"Fine," I acquiesced, my mind already preoccupied with the turmoil at FunHouse. "I'll see you later."

Ending the call, I pondered my next move. The chaos surrounding me barely registered; my focus lay solely on the situation at the company. Returning to my car, I sought solace in the solitude, needing time to gather my thoughts.

Carl's forcing me to step down from my position and make me as the Chief Operating Officer left me conflicted. While I was relieved to retain a position within the company, the notion of working under Carl, whom I previously believed to have little interest in SkyHaven, was unsettling. Clearly, I had misjudged him.

For now, all I could do was bide my time and observe Carl's actions and motives. However, my thoughts kept circling back to the omega who had seemingly betrayed me. Vengeful thoughts consumed me as I contemplated how to track him down and exact retribution. But without any leads beyond his distinctive attire, finding him seemed like an impossible task.

The bitter realization that he had potentially sold himself for money gnawed at me, compounded by the fear of the consequences of our encounter. How could he not comprehend the magnitude of his actions? Did he not realize the risk of pregnancy?

Frustration and anger boiled within me as I grappled with the betrayal and the uncertainty of the future, vowing to make those responsible rue the day they crossed me.

The realization hit me like a ton of bricks. They wanted to conceive a child from me, a child who could potentially give them control over SkyHaven in my absence. The thought alone made my blood boil. I couldn't allow it. I had only one child, my precious offspring with Jun, and I refused to accept any other child from a lowly omega.

Shaking my head to dispel the dark thoughts, I acknowledged that Carl held the upper hand as long as the omega remained hidden. I needed to find him, and fast.

Without further delay, I started my car and drove straight to my father's house, a sense of urgency propelling me forward.

"Master Caelus," Charlotte greeted me as I got out of my car.

"Is my father here?" I inquired, my impatience evident.

"I'm afraid not, Master Caelus," she replied respectfully.

"Where is he, then?" I pressed.

"He's out playing golf with his friends," she informed me.

"Prepare the guest room for me. I need to rest," I instructed, my mind already racing with plans.

"Yes, Master Caelus. Right away," Charlotte replied, ever efficient in her duties.

"Before that, is Carl or Cassandra around?" I inquired further.
