Chapter two.

- Seven years later.

"Your Highness,"

Alexandre Hawkshire, looked up as his council dismiss themselves quickly. The King stands, watching the young boy rush down the Throne room with wide panicked eyes. Ariadne steps out from behind the pillar, watching with worried eyes as the two guard's finally catch up the boy, heavy armour clanking along with them. Edgar Marlins stands from his seat beside the King, wide eyes watching at the young boy skids to the stop. The King waves his hand, dismissing them as he gently places a hand on the young boy's shoulder.

"What is it-"

"Your Highness," The young man pants, swallowing thickly, "I have a message for you."

"From who?" The King raises a brow, sharing a look with his sister as she glances at the messenger.

"Gandalf the Grey."

---

"This is a terrible idea, sister,"

Ariadne rolls her eyes as she places the dagger in the side of her boot. Alexandre sits in the armchair, watching as the fire burns brightly in the fireplace, he sighs as he takes of the golden crown off his head.

"They have found the ring, Rivendell is a two day journey, we can get there before they leave-"

"You are suggesting I," Alexandre pauses, pointing to himself, "Send a healer as a gift with them on a dangerous quest."

"Yes," Ariadne nods, dropping her bag by her brothers feet making the man look up at her with a raised brow, "This ring needs to be destroyed, we could end this war that killed father-"

"But we are free from the orcs," Alexandre stands, opening the balcony doors as the city stands tall once again, the trees dances in the distance as the sun beamed down on them, "We haven't had trouble for the past seven years."

"But we aren't the only kingdom out there, Alex," Ariadne softly argues, "The world will come to an end if that ring ends up in the wrong hands, I have a chance to finally make father, mother, you, proud."

"You have made us proud," Alexandre gently cups his sisters face, smiling gently at her, "I am proud, and if this is what you truly want, then I will follow your lead, you Highness."

Ariadne softly laughs, "I am the healer, remember?"

Alexandre hums, hugging her to his chest, "Yes, but you will always be our Queen."

---

"Look after him for me,"

Edgar and Ariadne sit shoulder to shoulder in the shadows of the hall as Alexandre sets the journey to Rivendell and informs the council about their upcoming travels.
