Chapter six.

Ariadne fastened her belt around her waist, the metal corset hugged her tightly with metal shoulder pads, the long sleeved white blouse underneath, falls over her knuckles . Her dark hair ran down her spine as she placed her father's dagger into her sheath. She takes her bag from the table, digging through it to take out something hidden in parchment, she unwraps it, taking the metal headband out. Her fingers brush over the silver, before placing it on her head, the black teardrop stone rests on her forehead.

Ariadne takes a deep breath, walking on the balcony as the Orcs army thunderous march echoes around them, their screams and shouts following. There was a sudden lift of hope as the Elves had come to their aid, now they stand with the men as they did once, a long time ago. The Elves arrival meant that their army was boosted above a thousand, giving the men courage and hope. They now equalled in strength and skill and the great several feet of rock that separated them from the Orcs gave them a slight advantage.

Ariadne stood beside Legolas and Gimli, King Théoden's army stood either beside their king as the Elves' stood beside Ariadne and Legolas, along the wall. A sickening silence sat on them as they waited, the nights fog dusted the floors as the moon peaked through the clouds. They could only watch and wait as the little flamed torches flickered in the dark, approaching them quickly as the enemies shouts got louder and louder.

"Could of picked a better spot," Gimli grumbled, unable to see over the wall.

Legolas smirked as Ariadne hides her smile behind her hand before clearing her throat as Gimli sends her a deadpanned look. Aragorn approaches them, standing behind Gimli as they watch the army near.

"Your friends are with you Aragorn,"

"Let's hope they last the night," Gimli mutters.

Aragorn pats Ariadne's shoulder, sending her a reassuring smile to which she mirrors before he leaves. Legolas looked at the beautiful woman beside him, taking her free hand in his own, she looked at him. Their world fell silent as their eyes met, Ariadne smiled in reassurance as Legolas squeezed her hand.

Gimli jumps, trying to see over the wall, "What is happening out there?"

"Would you like me to describe it too you?" Ariadne asks with a teasing smile on her face.

"Or shall I get you a box?" Legolas cheekily adds.

Thor's shout followed through the night sky, the strike of Mjölnir breaks through the clouds, allowing Mother Nature's cry to fall through. Her tears bounce off the army's metal amour and the men begin to lose hope as the orcs reach their final stop at the bottom of the Helm's Deep. A Uruk Hai growls, beckoning more to stand tall and proud.

Ariadne looks over her shoulder at Aragorn who stands only a few feet away, between the Elves and the men, his eyes meet her as he gently nods. The battle of Helm's Deep lingers as he takes his sword and raised it high.
