This was meant to be really short but I ended up on a tangent and this turned into one of my favourite chapters of this book.

Dianne leant up againts the bar until she was handed her second gin and tonic of the night. It was then she turned around and was faced back with the reality of all the Bright lights and crowd of people gathered in the old converted bar. It had been filled with the softest of music on this evening, the warm evening...of zoe and alfies wedding.

It had been the most beautiful day and definitely one everybody had waited so long for. Despite the years it had taken though, it was everything and more. From the laughter that could be heard from all their family and friends, to how beautiful zoe looked in her long white dress, a dress that shimmered under the hot spring sun. Even the little details like the pretty pink flowers on the back of seats and the cocktails named after the happy couple, everything had tied together up until now, the evening reception which was filling up with even more of their friends and was about to turn into the best party.

For dianne though, she had been there since the very first second of the day and even before. She loved weddings- just everything about them she thought radiated happiness so to be apart of the day was a treat and it was even better that she had the honour of being one of zoes bridesmaids. Their close relationship that had formed over 7 years had made it an easy decision for zoe. She wasn't letting dianne not be part of her day. They had always been the best of friends and as the years had gone, zoe had began to value dianne as not just her brothers girlfriend but a member of the family, and the auntie to her two girls. With that, dianne joined the bridal party which consisted of Tracey, zoe and Joe's mum, and a couple of zoes childhood friends and of course ottie and novie. They had spent the morning together, all getting ready and although of course, as it should be, the highlight was on zoe as she put on her dress, for dianne she had a simpler sage green dress. The colour scheme was pastels, a perfect choice for the season and the whole day. It was bright and light and happy and had been since even before alfie turned around to take a look at his now wife. It was a moment alot of people would never forget. The moment where two people in love would look at eachother for the first time before making the ultimate commitment, it was always special but with a couple like zoe and alfie who had been together nearing 14 years, it was extra special. However,  although dianne even let a little tear escape at the emotions she felt at their first look, there was somebody else she also had her eyes on when she got to the end of the aisle, Her Joseph, who was now stood on the other side of the room next to a big group of people.

Finishing her drink, she put the glass back down on the bar and left to find him. Creeping up, she moved her way through his family, although they had now also become her family now too. Although they weren't married just yet, everybody had been so welcoming and her involvement in the day just proved how well she got ok with all of them.

"Hey, what are you doing?"
She whispered, bringing an arm onto his back and up towards his shoulder.

"Oh hello"
He smiled, turning around to put an arm around her too, resting his hand on his waist.

"They're about to do their first dance"
He told her, answering all the questions about everybody surrounding the dance floor which she looked towards, seeing alfie stood in the middle and zoe walking slowly towards him, their arms wrapping around one another as their chosen song began to play and everybody's eyes glued to them, including her own.

Dianne was always a lover of love, no matter who it was or what kind or where. Whether it was family, her friends or the more romantic kind, seeing people being in love made her happy and even more so when she had been able to watch that love grow with her own eyes.
