"Olivia Harrison-Barton, will you please get yourself up for work? I should not be having to run around for you like this when you are now 18 years old"
Olivias mother stood at the door of her bedroom, folded arms and an angry expression on her face from the rushed morning she had got herself caught up in. Beginning with an alarm at 6am, she had woken up and took the family's 2 labradors for a walk through the fields before then returning and taking her youngest son to his football practice. She had made her husband breakfast before he had gone off to work and now she was stood where she was at the door of her now grown up daughters bedroom, feeling as if she was a young teenager again who would refuse to get up for school, except this time she was a woman not a girl, starting at a brand new job at their new local pub.The family had moved recently, not far from where they had been before but they had gone a few villages along and now found themselves in a nice neighbourhood with rolling fields. It was a place where they had lovely neighbours, a shopping town just up the road and not too far away from their new house was a quaint, cute, little pub that served proper English dishes and had a beautiful beer garden round the back. It was the closest place to them that Olivia found was advertising when she was looking for a new job. Her sometimes unbothered attitude made her old job now too far away to travel to without a car and so she had gone for an interview and had a trial shift and now had a new job as a barmaid which was actually something she hadn't done much of before. She had worked since she was in school, and she knew how to pull a pint and make a cocktail but being constantly behind a bar was something she had never done properly before.
"Ah! God, don't turn the light on like that, it's too bright"
Olivia covered her arms from the shock that sent through her, when her mother turned on her bedroom light."I know liv, but it's 10am and you start in an hour and a half so I'd suggest you'd get up if you would like a lift"
Her mum told her, knowing that Olivia wouldn't walk herself there when she hadn't gone to sleep until about 3am that same morning.Olivia wasn't a troublesome girl. She wasn't naughty, infact she was quite intelligent and had just started university doing a course in performing arts but she sometimes could be abit unbothered. She had a very 'whatever' attitude and was never fussy with anything. She was happy with whatever life handed her and never complained about it, she just went along with it. That attitude had transfered into her employment history too. She had her fair share of jobs ranging from volunteering in a charity shop, serving pastries in a bakery and even babysitting. Now though she knew she had to stick to this job. Having just started uni she was now at a critical stage of her life. She had decided to stay living at home which meant she still had her comforts and so she knew she could get distracted from her studies by still being around her college friends, but she wanted to now work hard and get her degree so she could go travelling to America. Being a performing arts students, her dream was to go and see Broadway, so she wanted to save to go over there.
"Ok, mum, chill. I'll be ready soon"
Olivia sat up, bringing her legs over the side of bed and standing up before then making her way to the shower. She done her makeup and straightened her hair before putting on her all black uniform and slipping on her trainers before she then made it into the passenger seat of her mums car.Family meant everything to Olivia, even though she sometimes bickered with them all. Her brother was only 3 years younger than her and her parents had been married for 25 years. They were very tight-knit and Olivia loved that about them. She hoped one day she could have a love story like her parents. They had met in school and been together since they were teenagers. Even though she couldn't have that because she had now passed that age, she still hoped to meet someone and fall in love. She had big aspirations in life. She wanted to be a dancer on the west end. She loved acting and singing too but dance was her real passion. It was something she did ever since she was little and she loved everything about it. The feeling dance gave her was something she didn't get from anything else and she wanted nothing more than to experience it on a big stage, somewhere like the west end. Other than that, her other ambition in life was to have her own family. She wanted to get married and have children and was one of those girls who had planned out her whole adult life in her head before it even happened. She wanted 2 children. Without a doubt. She wanted to have that same experience that her and her brother got. She had an amazing relationship with him and so she hoped her future children could get along like that. For now though she wasn't a middle aged mother, she was far from it. She was just an 18 year old girl, who waved goodbye to her mum and walked into her first day of her new job, immediately being greeted by the manager.
