Diannes eyes wondered beyond the huddle of people she had found herself in, and through her teary eyes she managed to catch a glimpse of her mother, stood in the front row, her hands classped close to her heart with her own teary eyes as she watched on. Stood next to her, diannes father, who was just as emotional. Seeing your little girl, who was infact not so little anymore, achieve their dreams was one thing but seeing her now, here on the strictly ballroom floor not just dancing but with the gliterball trophy tightly grapsed in both of her hands, that was an entirely different feeling, one they had always wanted to experience, one they had wished for but had never expected. Diannes career was a long list. From hairdressing to stage shows, tours and now strictly come dancing, they always knew she would make it to the top but they were unsure on whether they would get to see that moment themselves and be there for her, to cry with her, to hug her, to congratulate her on everything she had achieved. Yet...here they were, stood to the side of the dance floor, watching her as her name had been called out and that trophy had been handed over. She had won strictly come dancing...and they had been there to witness it.

"Mum...."
She had been lost for words the past few minutes, but the familiarity of her parents being there had brought her back into reality. Slowly detaching herself from the group, she rushed over and soon found herself in the comforting arms of the older Australian.

"Oh dotty"
Rina wrapped her arms around her tightly, certain that she hadn't been held onto this tight since dianne was a tiny baby but she felt as if in this moment she needed nobody more than the people who had supported her to get to this point. Her family. And although alot of them couldn't be there with her, her parents were representative of everyone who had ever pushed her to be the best. From her pop who had brought her her first ever pair of dance shoes, to uncle Joe who would drive her and Andrew to all their competitions, to her childhood dance teachers who were all the way back home smiling as they watched on. This had been a moment long in the making, even since before she had joined strictly.

Dianne had always worked her hardest so she could become the best. She didn't have a harsh upbringing, if anything it was filled with the most unconditional love you could ever ask for, where everybody was happy and cared for eachother and were close, but sometimes money could be a struggle. She hadn't been disadvantaged, she always was fed and clothed and there was never money worries. She and her brothers had got everything they needed but it was hard to find the funds to get dianne across the border. The border to competitions, to more disciplined lessons. She came from a very small country town, where there wasn't much going on. There was only one dance school and they only competed againts dance schools in the near by towns and villages. The biggest competition she ever got to go to growing up was in Perth, a 2 hour drive away. She was grateful but for dianne, her dream was bigger than that. She wanted all these amazing professional lessons over in America, she wanted to visit all the dance colleges in London, she wanted to go to the world championships in Blackpool. But it wasn't easy. It was expensive, she knew that, which was why she had worked as hard as she could to make it. And she had done so well. To think she was once this little girl in a small town down under who was now living her best life on the other side of the world, touring, dancing- it was crazy. What was even crazier though was that she had just got everything she had worked towards; she had won strictly come dancing.

"Are you alright sweety?"
Rina asked. She had noticed the tears. She hadn't managed to stop crying herself.

"Mm hmm, so good"
Dianne stepped back and nodded. Taking a chance to properly look at her mum, she realised everything she had managed to achieve. Her mum had always supported her and tonight was no different. She was so glad she could be there to see it all happen infront of her tonight. It had been such a special moment.
