Clyde awoke from his slumber groaning, taking a moment to completely wake up. He tried sitting up, but he couldn't, he was bound to something. He opened his eyes as the hot sun beats down on him. "The hell?" He tries to get up looking around to see he is tied to train tracks he can hear the train blowing its horn in the distance. Sweat beats down his face. "Haha, you'll never save this fair maiden in time." A man says mocking Clyde while twirling his mustache like an old film villain. Raleigh arrives staring him down. She has her cube shaped like a revolver. "You're outmatched just let Clyde go, and run off creepy old dude." Clyde tries to get off the train tracks, but it's useless. "Oh god am I going to die in the most stupid, and cliche way ever." He says panicking a little. "Cool it Clyde I got this." They both draw their weapons. "I'm the fastest draw in the west there is no way you can beat me, little girl." They both draw, and fire she hits him dead knocking him to the ground, while he just barely grazes her.
She walks over to Clyde freeing him from his binds. "Who was that guy." He asks puzzled about how he got into this situation. She shrugged. "Dunno he had like no reason to do this it's like this world just follows some sort of generic tropes from old movies." He didn't like that answer, but he got up making sure to be clear of the tracks. "I never liked westerns, except that one about the guy doing karate." He sighed tiredly at his powerlessness. "Sorry." He managed to say despite his embarrassment. "I guess I'm not good for much am I."
"Don't be like that Clyde you're good at lots of stuff, like um..... like...." She started to say, but her mind went blank. He sighs again. "Let's just go to the next world already. Are we almost there?" "Oh yeah we are pretty close I know I said like 3 worlds, but I think It will be a bit more than that." She said as they walked towards The Hopper. Clyde was lost in thought. He felt useless all he did was get captured or beaten up. In a fictional world, he'd have a power-up or something to keep toe to toe with the bad guys, but he didn't get anything like that, at least not one to take with him to other worlds. Sure he had become more competent at fighting and could beat low-level grunts, but compared to her, he was nothing. He looked at her wishing he had the power to prove himself and kept thinking that way as they traveled to the next world.
Maybe if he still had the ultra suit from the scout's world he would be able to keep up with her, he thought. They arrived at the next world only for all power in the ship to turn off while they were in mid-air. "What!" Raleigh shouted seeming to bug out herself. The Hopper started to nose dive. She couldn't seem to move. "I don't know what's happening Clyde." He was frozen he had never seen her like this. Was the old man somehow doing this he thought. They crashed hard into the ground knocking them both to the floor. And worst of all it seems they took down half a church with them. Clyde struggled to his feet going over to her. "What happened?" He asks. She twitches on the floor a little. "I can't use any of the cybernetics in my body they have completely shut down." She sounded panicked. She must have had way more robotic parts than he thought if it was affecting her so greatly.
"I think it might be the world we are on. Look around The Hopper is completely offline. This world must forbid technology like this from existing. We might be in real trouble Clyde." He started to understand the potential severity of the situation. "Can you stand?" She attempts to do so struggling quite a bit. "Yeah I can, but that's about all I can do." She started to walk to the door trying to push it open. "Come help me open this. It should have disabled any locking mechanism since everything is powered down." He helps her push as it slowly started to open. He had to put his back into it.
They made it outside to see the destruction their crash had caused the poor church. A lone Priest was standing there shaking with anger about to say something, but he paused looking behind them. There was a stained glass window still intact depicting a man that looked similar to Clyde holding a sword up in the air. "Oh, great merciful Goddess. The prophecy is being fulfilled as we speak!" He said with glee tearing up a little bit. They were both prepared for this guy to justifiably yell at them for destroying the place, but for some reason he was praising them now. "Prophecy?" Clyde asks. "Yes, yes. It's been foretold That a mighty warrior and his servant would fall from the sky one day and defeat the evil demon lord." Raleigh spoke up. "Hey! Who are you calling a servant? I'm the boss here."
