as miyuki satomi stood outside the entrance of u.a., she felt a mix of excitement and nerves. despite promising herself not to be nervous earlier, the reality of actually being at u.a. right now made her stomach churn with nerves. she took a deep breath, gathered her courage and stepped through the entrance.

she wished her friends were here with her, but katsuki insisted on coming alone to not be around izuku and izuku was running a bit late.  miyuki was always the type to arrive early.

echoes of her family's encouragement rang in her mind, as if her sister and little brother were right there beside her, cheering her on just as they had been doing all morning. their words of support served as comfort to her.

"MIYUKI! YOU GOT THIS!" her sister yelled giving her a double thumbs up before she handed her, her backpack. "YOU'LL CRUSH THEM ALL!" her 9 year old little brother takumi sat in the backseat of the car as he mimicked their sister's body language and facial expressions.

miyuki giggled, "thank you guys!" she opened the car door as she stepped out and swung her backpack over her shoulder before closing the door. she waved as they drove off.

miyuki entered through the doors of the hero course exam orientation, scanning rows until she found her seat and settled down. with each passing moment, she felt her nerves gradually ease.

"this won't be bad," she reassured herself, trying to calm the butterflies in her stomach.

"hi! i'm ochaco uraraka!" miyuki turned to see a cute girl with short brown hair extending her hand. miyuki smiled softly, "i'm miyuki satomi," and shook her hand. ochaco nodded with a smile before taking her seat.

all the lights at the front of the stage illuminated, silencing the room.

"what's up, u.a. candidates! thanks for tuning in to me, your school dj!" spoke present mic, the pro hero miyuki immediately recognized from takumi's podcasts.

"WOO—" miyuki started, but quickly quieted down as she realized no one else cheered. ochaco giggled quietly, watching miyuki's face flush red.

"keeping it mellow, huh?" present mic grinned. "that's fine! i'll skip straight to the main show! let's talk about how this practical exam is gonna go down, okay?"

miyuki glanced around, sure that both katsuki and izuku were here.

in the distance, she heard someone fanboying over present mic, it was unmistakably izuku. his voice filled the silent auditorium, making miyuki giggle quietly before refocusing on the pro hero.

present mic explained the ten-minute mock battles in urban settings, each group assigned to different battle centers.

miyuki checked her examinee card and saw she was assigned to battle center b. "did you get battle center b?" ochaco asked, peering over at miyuki's card. "yes, i did! and you?" ochaco's smile brightened. "me too!"

present mic continued, explaining the three types of villains in every battle center. students would earn points based on the difficulty of the robotic villains they defeated, using their quirks to take them down. attacking other examinees was strictly prohibited.

"excuse me, sir, but i have a question!" a voice cut through, drawing everyone's attention.

"hit me!"

a spotlight shone on a boy as he spoke up.

"on the printout, you've listed four types of villains, not three. with all due respect, if this is an error on official u.a. materials, it is shameful. we are exemplary students and expect the best from japan's most notable school. a mistake such as this won't do." the dark-haired boy paused before adding, "additionally, you with the unkempt hair! you've been muttering this entire time. stop that. if you can't bother to take this seriously, leave. you're distracting the rest of us."
